good price

worked great on my workhorse m/h on the common failure of the rotten green switch on the emergency braking system

Wish I knew the following information years ago

I own a 2001 Winnebago Adventurer and it leaked out the transmission fluid through this switch. I had a hell of a time figuring out where this was located and the location of the reservoir bottle. Most mechanics said the reservoir was next to the switch but not in my case. It was a cloudy plastic bottle with a yellow cap by the hood, driver's side below a lot of cables making hard to see. The switch location was inside the passenger side frame rail above the catalytic converter. The front of the steps in about 3 feet. Take off the heat plate 5 screws then unplug electrical connector, don't lose the rubber seal on the connector. Make sure you clean the connector since it most likely has embedded transmission fluid. Next use a wrench on the switch nut and remove it. You will get some leakage of fluid so put the new switch on quickly. When done make sure you fill the reservoir and you test it for leaks. Its a quick job that can be done on the side of the road but you should carry a 4x4 piece of wood to place under the passenger front jack to get the necessary clearance to get under the RV. I also placed 2 six ton stationary jacks under the frame for safety. It really is an easy operation once you safely elevate the RV. A Chevy dealer wanted $78 for the switch which was not bad for a dealer but a truck service center wanted $103(rip off). Buy an extra switch so you are prepared when it fails again. Most fail at about 35000 miles from comments found on RV internet forums. Good Luck.

works great for a RGS for a Workhorse motorhome.

I carried this for a spare, and I did have to use it! It did it job! Has been in the RV for about a year now. I bought another for spare. A must if you own a Workhorse Motorhome with the Auto Park Brake System.

This is often the AutoPark fix

If you have a Chevy/Workhorse P30-style chassis Class A Motorhome (independent front suspension, coil spring booster bags, typically narrow front track) then you are likely cursed with the AutoPark parking brake mechanism. The big yellow "Parking Brake" pull button to the left of the steering wheel is telltale. There are older versions that still have a foot pedal but some have only the yellow switch.AutoPark is a spring-loaded drum brake that grabs the driveshaft until a hydraulic pump lifts the pressure off those brake shoes and allows you to move. This switch is part of that mechanism's control. It often fails because the working pressure is very high and hydraulic fluid spills through this switch's diaphragm and renders the system unusable. Like a big rig's air brakes, AutoPark FAILS ON.At best, as soon as you power down, the brake will engage until the system is repaired. At worst, the parking brake will come on while you're driving and depending upon how quickly it engages it will either start burning the AutoPark shoes and drums or stop you in a big hurry. (how fast I don't really know). Once you're stopped you're stuck until you either repair AutoPark, or mechanically disable it by pulling out a cotter pin under the RV - a job best left to the AAA guy...Please take note that without AutoPark your RV has no working "Park" function in the transmission selector either, so you better have leveling jacks or jack stands, wheel chocks, and someone with a foot on the brakes or the RV could start rolling with someone still under it when AutoPark is mechanically disconnected.Keeping this switch onboard as a spare is cheap insurance that might prevent you from being really stranded if/when your AutoPark fails. Not all failures are this switch, but it is said to be the most common cause. It can be swapped out pretty quickly by someone who can get to the control box that is typically under the RV along the frame rail.Giving credit where credit is due: OldUsedBear is the defacto AutoPark guru!

Fixed the problem on my autopark brake system on my motor home. The AutoPark light was staying on all the time on the dash, even while driving. The problem turned out to be this switch. Fluid was leaking through the switch which is a definite indication that the switch is bad. Took 10 minutes to replace and it fixed the problem. Going to order another one as a spare because sometimes when it goes out the AutoPark brake engages and the motor home will not move. Cheap insurance item!

Good part

Works as it should

Park brake system switch spare.

I bought this switch to carry as a spare for replacement when the installed switch fails which happens. This pressure switch is used in the parking brake system on my motor home. Amazon was the least expensive place to purchase this switch. Next expensive was a GM dealer.

A Bargain

On our vacation our motorhome emergency brake was in the locked position and we were stuck by the side of the road. After 7 phone calls to RV repair places all over the state me husband had been told he couldn't fix the problem, he needed to be towed in for professional repair. He replaced this switch assembly and all is well. It saved him thousands, literally and this was such an excellent price we ordered a second one to have on hand, just in case of future problems.
