Excellent footprint/groundcloth for backpacking and tarp tents!
The 3m (3.2 Yards) of Tyvek 43gsm 1443R Kitemaking material is a perfect choice for a lightweight, compact, easy-to-pack groundsheet. The exact size I received was 10.5' x 5', which is plenty of length to accommodate 3 or 4 adults laying next to each other, parallel to the 5' dimension. I'm 6' tall, so my feet hang off the end by approximately 12", but that's actually convenient since it naturally encourages me to keep my feet (i.e., boots/shoes) off the groundcloth, increasing its life span and reducing how quickly it gets dirty. At night, when I take off my shoes to climb into my sleeping bag, my full-length sleeping pad supports my feet to get them off the ground in damp conditions as well. This 1443R material is, in my opinion, superior to the thicker house wrap type of Tyvek that many other backpackers use as groundcloth material. First, it is MUCH quieter without need to do the dryer trick to "break in" the material. That makes it a lot nicer to lay on at night. Second, it is lighter. My scale reports a total weight of 215 grams (7.6 oz.) for the full 10.5' x 5' piece. Third, it's a little easier and slimmer to fold up and stow in a pack (the thinner material "fights" you less). Yet the performance and durability still seem plenty adequate for a groundcloth. In fact, I find this to be the best all-around compromise between the ultra-light (but obnoxious to handle) polycro ground cloths and the heavier, loud (crinkly) house wrap style Tyvek. It's not as compact as polycro, of course, but my 10.5' x 5' piece folds down to roughly the same size/thickness as a folded Hanes Men's undershirt. Finding a spot in your pack for it should not be a problem.Only time will tell how durable this will be, but on dirt/grass, I suspect it will last for a very long time. Just watch out for sharp rocks, thorns, or sticks, which should always be cleared away before setting up camp. The white color shows dirt easily, but I like that it also increase the perceived brightness in the interior of my teepee style tent (I use a BearPaw Wilderness Designs Luna 4 shelter). In case you're interested, I cut my piece to 8' x 5' so that it will be even lighter and more packable, but still just large enough to squeeze four adults shoulder to shoulder onto the groundcloth. In practice, I use it for myself and my three little girls--ages 1, 3, and 5--so it's plenty spacious for that purpose. This leaves me with an additional 2.5' x 5' piece that I can leave at home to save weight, or that can be used as a minimalist solo groundcloth, or that can be used as a handy picnic blanket for keeping food items clean at lunch time and/or keeping your butt dry and clean when you sit on wet ground. If you're looking for an affordable, lightweight, easily packable, fairly durable groundcloth, this one is very hard to beat--a great value at $16. Highly recommended!

Awesome lightweight tent ground sheet
This makes a great lightweight ground sheet to protect the bottom of a tent. It's waterproof and will help keep your tent from getting punctured. Cut to size (just a little smaller than the bottom of your tent so it doesn't hang out).If you run it through the washing machine, it softens up and has very little crinkle sound. The best part is, if it gets really dirty and nasty on a trip, you can blast it with the hose or just toss it in the washer.

Lightweight, Durable, a tad Pricey.
This stuff amazed me. I purchased this to make a tent groundcloth, and it's worked out well so far. Extremely lightweight while still being puncture resistant and waterproof. This "gage" of material is also this enough to be easy to handle and not at all loud/noisy when doing so, as some other reviews led me to believe. My only gripe is that the price seemed just a tad high when I purchased it. Still, I wound up with an extremely lightweight and durable groundout at about half the price of a professionally manufactured one, so I can't complain too much.

Recieved 59"X121" piece, weight 7.39 ounces. Will make a good tent footprint
When I cut it down to the size of my tent, it'll weigh less than the tent manufacturer's footprint, which costs $70 (!) this is exactly 1/10th the price. It does appear that the "fuzzy" side will hold dirt and leaves, so I'' try putting the shiny side down. I don't know how much puncture resistance this adds, but the main thing is keeping the tent bottom from getting muddy & wet. When I pack up my tent, it'll be mostly dry. Should work well.

Using as a tarp/tent footprint...perfect!
I've crafted this to match the dimensions of my tent's footprint including grommets where the tent poles slide into. It's a much cheaper and lighter alternative to the name-brand footprints that the tent manufacturers pair up with their tents. Some people go to polycro, but I find that material to be less puncture resistant. This particular fabric is soft and doesnt exhibit the bad crackling noises that you get when you buy normal, heavier-gauge housewrap.

Excellent - what it is.
Yeah, researched what I wanted, this stuff, this is definitely it.

Seems to be thoroughly waterproof, very light, and pretty strong
I tested this stuff with standing water on the surface, and it seemed to do just fine. Also I couldn't rip it with my bare hands, which admittedly may not mean very much, but anyway...Also, it is very light (I'm planning to use it as a backpacking ground cloth/tarp) and not to terribly difficult to fold back down to about the size of the package it came in, which was probably ~7" x ~4" x ~.75".
