Alabaster is something that Egypt is known for. They make statues out of it. In the Bible there's even a mention of alabaster oil. Which was very expensive oil that was poured from an alabaster jar.I like how sturdy it is. Despite its slick, polished look, It has excellent brightness. I use a low lighting level at night, And it fits right in.Be aware that this one is a bit on the hefty side. However for the amount of money that you're going to get you're getting a very beautiful piece. It's well worth it.

I bought several of these for gifts. Each one was different and every one of them were gorgeous. They are beautiful with a candle lit or not. Definitely recommend buying these.

I have five of these and I really like them. The quality of the Alabaster is very fine, and they are highly polished. I read some complaints about the color, do not expect them to all look the same. Alabaster is a mineral and each piece will have its own unique striations. I have some with many striations that look beautiful in daylight when not burning, I also received a couple with few or no variations in color, personally I find these very attractive also, I love the look and feel of fine quality Alabaster. That being said when burning in a dark room they all look great especially the ones that have no color variation. When burning a non colored tea light which is what I recommend the candle holders have a warm milky glow that is very pleasing. I have some smaller alabaster holders from another vender that look murky orange when burning with the same tea lights, I think the quality of the stone is not as good or maybe its just from a different location.I did receive one that got chipped in shipping I think because the chipped piece was inside the holder when I opened the box, that said this vender also gets 5 stars for customer service as they replaced it with no expense to me, they also offered a refund which I declined as I preferred a replacement. I really like these and the vender stands behind their product. I just ordered another.

The color is pale when no votive light is on, which is kind of disappointing as the colors are some distinct online.

I bought this item for my wife on our 37th wedding anniversary and she loves it. We put an electric tea light inside and it looks beautiful at night. Just to pass on a tip you are not supposed to handle the vase and you are not to wash it. This is because it is water soluble.

This is beautiful, with enough weight to be sturdy and dependable. Watching light flicker through it is mesmerizing, but it’s beautiful even when it’s unlit.

Nice candle holder. Made well and the exterior is very polished. The one I received didn't have alot of deposits in it, but still gives off a very nice glow. Being made of a natural stone, no two are alike. I would advise using tea light. I believe it would be very difficult to remove melted wax from the inside of the candle holder.
