Sauder Edge Water Credenza, For TV's up to 70", Estate Black finish

The first thing to know, is that it doesn't have a real veneer. It's just particle board covered in that thin paper-like wrap. It will scratch VERY easily. At the corners where the surface wrap meets, it's best to cover over these areas with a furniture marker to cover some of the gaps.Some of it is made out of decent MDF, but some of it is that cheap crumbly particle board. At this price point I was thinking maybe the top or even the sides would possibly be actual wood, but this isn't the case.It takes time to put together. There are a LOT of pieces, but just take your time, and be gentle not to damage it. It's fragile, and not very strong.. The manual even warns you to not put too much weight on it, and not to lift it from certain points. The item is so heavy that the connectors and parts aren't capable of handling much strain afterwards.Do yourself a favor and get some wood glue and/or liquid nails and apply some where the joints allow. You do not want to rely on those cheap cam connectors and pins. Definitely glue the drawers together and that will save you a lot of headache down the road from the bottoms falling out. The hinges for the drawers and the doors are adjustable, which is nice, but also a must b/c the unit will not be perfectly square and aligned afterwards and these adjustments will help it all come together.2.5 stars would be my actual rating if possible.

Well this is the first time I have dealt with Sauder and I must say at first I was a little skeptical but this is a really nice looking piece and the price is very reasonable so I purchased it along with two bookshelves. So upon arrival I unpacked everything only to find that all the items had broken pieces and this had me a bit upset and honestly really questioning the quality and the handing of their products. So at this point I am thinking I might have made a mistake so I decided to return them. Well the bookshelves were returned no questions asked with a full refund however the tv stand I had to put In a request for a return and this made me nervous because now I'm wondering am I going to have to fight this thing out over emails and phone calls for a refund. well a few days went by and I got a email back asking for pictures of the damage so after I had already took it all apart and packed it back up of course I had to pull it all out again but i understand they have to cover their butts just like anyone would after all u can't just give everybody full refunds all the time for a silly little scratch or just change of heart at the last minute or what have you so i sent the pictures of the damage, now I'm left wondering what's going to happen now right. So after waiting anxiously to hear something back I do and this is the reason for my review they gave me a full refund and donated the product to me. Upon hearing this news I was so pleased with their generosity and the way they carried them selves I wrote this review. so there you have it Sauder has won my vote because of their good customer service and just caring about the people you do business with says alot to someone like me. so thank you and to anyone like me who actually reads the reviews although this one is a bit long I just want to say Sauder was very helpful and nice and they actually care about their customers and I figured taking a moment of my time to write this review is the least I could do. thanks again for everything guys and I will definitely recommend your products and use them proudly myself keep up the great work.

High quality for pressboard...a tad expensive for not solid wood, however after reading reviews before purchasing, I was ok with that. I love that you get both the glass inserts and panel door option.The color is just as photographed. Unfortunately, it came in damaged. Aside from the damage, it is as expected. I will update here with how well their customer service responds for replacement/exchange. I will start off with 3 stars and will add if their customer service is deserving.

I can honstely say that I was plesantly surprised. I had reviewed many "horror" stories about missing parts, broken/damage pieces, a nightmare to assemble, bad instructions, etc...Maybe I just got lucky, but NONE of that applied with my purchase. In defense of the prodcut itself, it arrived in excellent shape, all parts were present, and extremely easy to assemble - thank goodness for the step-by-step easy to read with pictures to guide instrutions. It actually was a snap to construct. My goal, for this purchase, was to hold all of my "old-school" components, i.e., reciever, karaoke machine, CD player, DVD player, turn table, etc...It was a great product to hold (6) of my favorite components, with three large drawers to hold everything else. While it did take about six (6) plus hours to assemble, but for the size and number of parts, I did not see that as being unreasonable.. Overall, I found the item to be a good sturdy product at a very good price. I couldn't be more pleased the item and would highly recommend it as a nice entertainment center due to its large capcity and functionality...

Arrived two weeks late, so missed Christmas, but it is worth the purchase price. The unit went together well, -simple to understand instructions,- but took a few hours longer than stated. I heartily recommend two persons to handle the cartons & two for the job. (It took me 7 hrs). We put a 65 inch TV on it and it looks marvelous. A couple of minor dings, but they were easily remedied with a black felt magic marker. All good......
