Step N' Sort The 16-Gal. 3-Compartment Stainless Steel Trash and Recycling Bin

Overall unit has worked flawlessly for years. Recently, two of the three internal bins developed cracks. We reached out to the manufacturer via email and they were super helpful, shipping out two new bins for, essentially, the cost of shipping. We're about to move and there had been talk of replacing the entire unit, but now we're definitely bringing it with us where we expect it to continue serving honorably for many more years to come!

My 24-year-old son lives with me and is responsible for the trash. He’s not the most “fine-tuned” person, and we are both on the spectrum, so finding a trash can that helped us keep things organized was a bit tricky. Most cans we tried before had very poor lid-designs. We opted for a pedal mechanism because they seem the most durable, yet they always seemed to be the part to break first.This trash organizer is the bomb. The lid design is perfect. With three individual containers and three individual lids, they open super easily, and I know the pedal-operated lids wouldn’t be a problem at all. The size of the three containers also seems perfect for the amount of trash we produce between three humans and one cat, and frequently visiting neighbor; we empty the bins every other day. We are using 13 gallon biodegradable liners for them, and they are a bit big, but they enable us to secure the bags in the bin in a way that it doesn’t end up slipping our and sliding down the inside like with the previous trash can. I’m sure a smaller size would work too.I highly recommend this system. The black color and the design of the black lids allows for perfect labeling (we used a white marker to label each compartment), and the trash can also comes with colored stickers and a guide of what goes into which bin. It simply is a perfectly designed trash system. I felt a bit weird spending more than $100 on a trash can, but it was worth every penny.

Get this one due to having cats and it does what I needed it to do by stopping them from opening so that is a plus. (That’s about all)

Bought this for my elderly mother so she can easily recycle. The individual bins are not large, but that is what I was looking for so it would be easy for her to pull them out when full and not be too heavy. She really likes it as well. Would recommend.

Perfect for my two-person household. We're able to go the whole week before having to empty any of the bins. Putting a bag in the cans and putting it back into the enclosure seems a bit difficult as the bags have to be tucked in a few different times before they're not poking through the lid. But otherwise I love this product. Great for finally separating our trash, recycling, and compost.

Great for separating but the handles broke off and weren’t sturdy making it hard to pull the bags out

It seems to hold more than I expected. I take the garbage out twice weekly; the recyclables are once per week. It seems to hold everything quite well, and I never smell the trash! Very well made. Bags are easy to find in the supermarkets; I use the 8 gal. size, only for the trash as the other two compartments stay rather clean.

The media could not be loaded. The barrel is solid and the pedals work smooth. The trash bags can be a bit of a pain but I was aware of that ahead of time. All that said I am extremely pleased to find a triple barrel system for my house that isn't too big or too small but just right 👌
