This was easy to install and worked fine, but unfortunately for us it was our door handle that was the problem, not the latch, so this didn’t solve our problem. However we will hang on to it, just in case, as for the low price it’s not worth the effort to return. Our front door had a Schlage handle/lock/latch on it, and this was a fine substitute.Edited to add that this would have been a fine replacement for the Schlage latch that we had, where the inside handle had screws on the left and right side of the handle, not on the top and bottom. I only say this because the replacement exterior door handle we bought (also a Schlage) has screws above and below the inside handle, so the new latch mechanism is slightly different, meaning this replacement latch wouldn’t work to replace the new one. We are still keeping it because it still fits other locks around the house, though.

I liked the fast shipping and works with my Gate House door knob. Unfortunately, the added sleeve on the unit would require me to enlarge the door hole so I used another style and returned this unit.

It was a slight bigger but that was easy to fix it to fit. I'm very pleased

This door latch hardware was a perfect swap out replacement for a square spindle handle. It feels much more solid and secure than the original Pamex latch assembly. Lots of adjustment options. I'm ordering a couple more to have on hand when my other original ones will eventually wear out and fail.

The door handle i had needed a new part, and this item fit perfectly. It took a few minutes to install and works exactly as I hoped.

The unit arrived promptly, and everything was included. Unfortunately the square drive was too small for the Yale handle. Otherwise seems built ok. The cap for the latch was larger than the existing and a bit cheaply made. Unfortunately, I didn't check before modifying the mortise. Makes sure you check the fit in the handle before you install.

Probably works for other handles but it is not universal and doesn't fit the kwikset doorknobs and doesn't fit for exterior doors.

I don't know why a reseller/manufacturer wouldn't include the size of critical features. -4 stars for bad description. Buy a $10 set of calipers and measure it! The latch looks sturdy and would fit my handles except the square hole was not the right size for me. +1 star for being sturdy looking.I purchased a 582189 6-Way Square Spindle Entry Latch. It has a square hole that measures 0.305" x 0.305"The round cylinder section measures 0.850" in diameter. I'll leave it for the seller to include more dimensions. (distance from edge of door to center of square hole? Duh?) I'll try and return the part through amazon.
