I was happy with the ease and convenience of assembly... for the most part. The particle board is a pain. The hutch and desk come in two different boxes and I opened the hutch first. Thank goodness, because you are suppose to assemble that first so that it can be placed on top of the desk when assembled but, the glue that holds the wood pegs in is with the hardware from the desk's box. So open the desk and get the glue out first.I was very careful to make sure I had all of the pieces before assembling and glad to see that I did! The biggest hassle was trying to hold the itty bitty nails/screws that hold the cardboard like backing to the desk and hutch. They are so tiny that it proved difficult to hold them and tap them in with a hammer. I complained about this to a friend at work and he told me I should have used needle nose pliers to help with positioning the nail/screw. The desk was very flimsy and my boyfriend was very vocal about how cheap my purchase appeared by how wobbly the desk was. It wasn't until I had placed the cardboard like backing onto the back of the desk that it seemed to strengthen and stabilize. This is not very reassuring knowing how much difficulty I had with the itty bitty hardware holding the backing on.There was also some type of stain on the cherry finished top. I actually had to take a sponge and scrub to try to remove the stain. It didn't remove it all but, since I managed to drive one of the itty bitty screws through the top of the darn particle board desk top on the same corner it didn't really matter about the stain. I strategically placed a pen holder over the stain and in front of the spot that I drove the nail through.The assembly instructions were very clear and easy to follow. The only confusion I had was when I had to drive two little plastic tack like hardware pieces into the bottom of the desk in what seemed to serve as feet. There were no predrilled holes identifying where these should be hammered in. That was my only concern with the assembly instructions.Overall I am very pleased with my purchase considering how nice the finished product looks. I cannot afford a $1500 dollar hardwood desk, so I settled for particle board.

There are a couple of things from previous reviews that I feel I should address. This desk is not entirely made of solid wood. Frankly, if you thought you could buy a solid wood desk for under $200, you have a tenuous grasp of pricing. Since the desk arrives in pieces and you build it yourself, how well made it is depends entirely on you. The hardware and the design of the desk are not absolutely top flight (for example, the drawers are screwed together rather than dovetailed), but they are certainly very good by the standards of modern office furniture.Assuming that you build it correctly or, like me, stand by reading the directions while more skilled people build it for you, this is a beautiful desk for a small space. There's a cabinet for your CPU, which unfortunately has to be left open while your computer is on. The upside is that, while you do have to turn your computer off rather than just putting it to sleep, when you close up the cabinet and the drawer for the keyboard, your desk looks nice and tidy. Access to the CPU is excellent, with three openings for all the various things you plug into your computer.The drawer for the keyboard has room for your mouse and mouse pad as well. There's also a drawer for your pens which accommodates my notebook, planner, and cameras as well.Delivery was on time and the truck driver carried the box in for me. The pieces were well packed and clearly labeled. The directions consisted entirely of diagrams, but we were able to follow them without difficulty.All in all, an attractive and functional desk at a great price.

I absolutely love it. My son did assembling and looks perfect in my bedroom ! Plenty of space.

The desk is beautiful with its cherry top and black bottom. The handles are a nice accent to the whole presentation. There is plenty of room for a full-size ATX computer case with perforated cutouts in the back. Once the back cover is nailed in place the desk is quite sturdy and does not rock or sway. The back cover does help hide any cables that might be present and prevents people from resting their feet on the wall. However, it does not hold up well. The clips that hold the keyboard tray cover in place broke on us after 2 weeks. The computer door is not on straight and regardless of how hard I try to align it correctly it does not want to cooperate. The handles do not stay firmly in place because some of the screws are too long and so the handles wobble when you open a door. Also, it does take an incredibly long time to assemble because the instructions are vague (4+ hours). Overall I am happy with the desk but I wish the build quality was stronger, especially for the price of the desk. Oh, and the shipping company (CEVA) failed to contact me for delivery so after 2 full weeks of waiting I contacted Amazon and they had to take care of it all for me...fortunately Amazon was incredibly helpful and resolved the shipping problem immediately.UPDATE: After several months of using this desk I can honestly say I would never buy it again, and I would discourage anyone from buying it. As time passes the top of the desk begins to bow in the middle. Two tabs on the pull out tray that lock the drawer cover in place have broken within a couple weeks of use. The cabinet door and storage drawer do not align correctly at all and are now constantly hitting each other which causes the paint to chip off. Even though it is a nice looking desk, I have so many headaches dealing with this desk. Stay away from this desk or you might end up with the same regrets I have.

I love the desk and would have given it a 5 star but it had a very small bad place look like maybe got it in shipping on the right front corner. However, it is not noticable so I am still happy with it. I looked a long time before deciding on this desk.

Shipping was fantastic although there were missing pieces of wood parts and scratches on the top. Unfortunately we disposed of the packaging as we removed the product pieces and may not be able to return.
