VOXVT20X 20W Guitar Modeling Amplifer w/ 10' Classic Series Instrument Cable

I have owned so many amps in my lifetime and I have very low expectations for this. It has blown me away!!! It is without reservation my favorite amplifier that I have ever had! The only thing that I'm not totally crazy about is that it has a wall wart instead of a real substantial grounded cable. I can't believe the tonal range, I can't believe the expressiveness, I love that you can run it in manual or preset mode, The quality of the effects are amazing! And it's so hard to believe that you can turn down the power level and play at super comfortable bedroom levels without losing much of the town. But then you can crank the power level up and be able to play with A reasonable drummer indoors. I also bought the pedal which adds amazing amounts of flexibility. Sure it would be great if it came with it but it's worth the extra money. I never would've thought I could've gotten this much satisfaction out of an amp that I bought for $180 new! Because I do some outdoor gigs and play with a couple drummers to have a little bit less self control ;-) I plan on purchasing the VT100x for big gigs but I'm sure this one might would be sufficient for a lot of what I do! Awesome job Vox! My best friend off and says "does it make you want to play your guitar?" Once again, more than anything I have ever owned!

The best amps you can buy for the price. The older valvetronix are amazing. This one is pretty good as well. Other modeling amps don't even come close to the powerful sound you get from this amp. It sounds incredible. I bought the Boss Katana mkii everyone is raving about, and it doesnt even come close to the valvetronix in terms of sound and options.It has so many options and amps emulations, settings and effects. Make sure you read the manual though. When you change settings, make sure you're in manual mode, or the volume will become extremely loud. Do not change settings while the amp is in preset mode or you'll blow the amp. When in doubt, turn the power level and volume level all the way down when changing settings. Other than that the amp would be perfect.

This thing is so much fun!I have a 1x12 80 watt Marshall but it needs to be loud to sound good and always sounds like a Marshall. I have two kids starting to play and I wanted them to be able to play at a reasonable volume and explore different sounds. This makes it so easy to get their guitar to sound like the band/song they are learning it makes for a fantastic tool.It isn't amazing at anything but does almost everything really well.

Own one now for over five years. Sound-wise, it's excellent. About three good clean amp voices onboard, w/ more at Tone Room. There are some quirks. The place where the power cable connects is cheap-o. I replaced the power cord w/ one with the lump in the middle, not at the end ("wall wart"). When you switch amp models, the volume jumps or drops. So you have to save them as presets with the volume set to match one another. Seems inefficient. The delay can do slap echo; there is reverb. Not really built for road work; made from cheap wood. Probably can't be repaired in most cases. Treat it well and it should be fine. Not going to be loud enough to compete with a drummer. I love mine.
