Professional Practice for Interior Designers

This is a very thorough text on the subject of the business of interior design and a key reference book for designers. It is indispensable for anyone thinking about opening their own interior design practice. The book is well researched and has been kept up to date over the various new editions released over the years. The bibliography is extensive. I have an older hard copy version and the latest Kindle one needed for a master's program class. For a class with reading assignments, the Kindle version is quite convenient, but for reference books such as this that one will want to keep, I think I might prefer the hard copy version.

Hi Stubborn Rock,This book states is a professional practice book for designers and interior design students. The contents cover what a designer needs to know to open and run a design business. It covers contracts, fuduciary relationships, pricing, billing, various stages of the design process and more. It is not a book on designing spaces.The information is organized in a logical sequence and includes examples of forms and other documents to use in an interior design business. I have found this book extremely useful in my interior design studies.

This was a very in-depth book and teaches everything one needs to know about the business of being a professional interior designer. This business knowledge was invaluable for starting your business properly. A very good book, but also a very academic book. Not for a bit of light reading on a sunday afternoon.PS. It was recommended by a Professor of Interior Design at the university I go to, so that should tell you the level of knowledge it goes into.

It had a hole on the side of the book, and its highlighted but other than that it does what it needs to! and it was an affordable price.

I purchased this book for my professional practice for interior design class at college. It is pretty detailed and with nice examples.

I understand that it’s hit or miss when renting textbooks, but I don’t think a book with a cover that’s completely come off should be in rotation. It’s a bit ridiculous to be charged $28 for this, but I guess it’s still functional. I’m leaving this review as a record of how the book was when it arrived and not something I did.

I like how complete and detailed it is and after 10 years in business was looking for a reference book to help me structure my design business properly. It is one of the books I've used for this.

Interesting read, lots of useful information for marketing.
