This Studio S Freestanding Tub from American Standard is about as awesome as it gets in this price range. A stand alone tub, no need to be flush against the wall, it's finished on every side. You literally could install this in front of the TV in the family room as long as you could run a drain pipe up to it (and some hot and cold running water, but that's not required), although I'm sure you're are gonna get someone upset if you are lounging in the tub in front of the wide screen and the teens are trying to play the latest thing from X Box. No, this belongs in a larger then standard bathroom, where it can roam free. Once it's installed, fill it up. The 17" depth is 5-6" higher then a standard tub fills, and will fill to your neck for most folks. Go ahead, get in. It's a smooth, white fiberglass finish, with the drain in the center, where it won't interfere with leaning back against the walls of the tub, anywhere. It's oval shaped, just pick a spot, there's no rules here. This amazing piece of tub is one piece, not to heavy (180 lbs, its steel reinforced), and sells for $1987.17 ( as of this review), and if you got the cash, and need a tub, is well worth the investment. If you ever decide to sell your home (and don't take the tub with you), it's gonna be a bathroom that perspective buyers are gonna remember. Standard 5' tubs with wall surrounds are as memorable as last weeks greasy fries, they are everywhere. This measures 68" long, 8" longer then a standard tub basin. You'll need a larger bath for this, the tub isn't made to squeeze in a small spot, it needs room to breathe (not really breathe, but the aesthetics won't be the same as installed in a larger bathroom. This piece is made to stand out. Add a floor mounted faucet, and it's complete. Wall mounted fixtures are also available with tub spouts reaching 12 to 15", a great look as well. Installation is a breeze once a drain pipe is in place, and hot/cold water supply lines are added for what ever plumbing fixture you decide on. I love everything about this tub. A hand held shower is no problem with the long length and extra wide size. A great design and very well made. Price may be prohibitive for many, at just under 2 grand, it's not a small investment. But, if you can swing it, you'll realize that it's money well spent the first time you use it. American Standard offers several styles to choose from if oval isn't your shape. But, who doesn't love oval.

My husband and I decided to read do our 12-year-old bathroom. We had a corner tub with Jets that was so uncomfortable. We opted for this deep freestanding tub. I lay in it and it supports my back and neck and my feet fit comfortably on the back wall. It is the most comfortable tub I have ever laid in. The water was up to my neck. I am 5'5. My husband who is pictured is 6 ft and he is sitting up straight. We drug this tub through the house and banged it a couple of times and it did not get dented or scratched. Putting it into the space we bumped it a couple of times and it did not get scratched then either. It was fairly easy to install, we have installed a couple of tubs in other houses. The drain piping and plumbing was more expensive then we planned for. So check that before you buy it. As you can see in the picture we shoved a whole roll of insulation into the open area around the tub before we set it in place. I would suggest doing that so you can hold the heat longer. Especially in a freestanding tub like this where the air is cold and it's in an open area. This tub drained very quickly it has a large drain. Just love it. Going to be happy for years:)

We already had the American Standard Studio S toilet for our bathroom and really wanted a tub that would match the modern Studio S look. We were thrilled that we could order the American Standard Studio S Oval Freestanding Soaking Tub from Amazon.Ours was delivered to the house by an Amazon truck. It was dropped off on our driveway and arrived in perfect condition. It is really heavy and a huge box of course so be prepared to have a way to get it inside.The tub is of nicer quality and materials than ones that we have looked at in our local store so we are so pleased with the American Standard tub.This really upped the luxury of our bathroom. This tub comes very well packaged. In an enormous box. It has a weight of 180 pounds. It has a beautiful oval-shape. Very smooth. It has a somewhat modern look, but also looks great in traditional bathrooms. Hardware is not included.At the current price pushing 2000 bucks, it certainly is on the high end of bathtubs, but it really is a fantastic tub.

This tub is easy to install! It feels so sturdy and durable. It looks so elegant too! This product is of quality. Great value for money! I highly recommend!

This was surprisingly easy to get to our upstairs bathroom. It gives such a high end look and replaced the built in Soaker tub that was in our house. It makes the bathroom look so much bigger. Well made, shipped and arrived with no cracks or issues

This is almost the perfect size for me to stretch my legs across as i am 6ft, it has the depth and length that i like better than just a normal shower with a tub. It was fairly easy to install, i just wish the drain was on one side rather than the middle! It would make it more comfortable for me if it was!
