This icing is not what I am use to by Wilton. I am a certified Wilton Instructor and this change is very disappointing. This new formula taste cheap and plastic just like some of the off brands.Wilton Please go back to your original flavor.

I liked the original flavor and texture a lot better. It looks good but it's not as firm as the other one. Stays soft even after it's been refrigerated overnight, which isn't good for covering with fondant. The taste is VERY artificial. I make about 15-20 custom cakes a week, so I'm currently searching for a better brand, but will continue using it until I find what I'm looking for.

Something has gone wrong at Wilton. I have used this product with no problems, but lately there is a chemical taste and smell to this. I used it recently for 4th of July cake (2022), and there was a subtle chemical smell and taste. This last time (July 17 2022), I used it for a birthday cake just yesterday. I could smell and taste the problem, but kept hoping it would go away. It did not. The cake was only a 5-layer 6” cake, and luckily for me, it was saved for last after other desserts were served (pies and another cake), so only part of it was eaten. I am so embarrassed by the overall product, that this morning I took the cake apart, scraped all the frosting off, and re-assembled it with a homemade buttercream that I made this morning. Unfortunately, some residual taste is still on the cake, but at least when the birthday girl stops by for the cake, it will be much improved. Everyone was very polite about it, but you could see the frosting left on their plates. It was only my husband who confirmed to me that the frosting was awful.It didn’t used to be like this, so I’m not sure what went wrong. And I will admit that I did not check the expiration date (sold by myh international) as I had received it only a day earlier. By the time I had taken it all out of the tub and mixed it we had cleaned the tub and disposed of the packaging. But I just can’t ever trust this product again. I spend a lot of time on making my cakes, usually over the course of three days. I can’t afford for something like this to ruin it.

I have used Wilton frosting for many years for my cakes. You can not make a better buttercream! It is so smooth and yummy! This is their newest buttercream. I was reluctant to try it but they are phasing out the original - so there were no other choices. I can't believe that it could get better - but it is! So much creamier as the tub says. So much smoother too! I can taste a difference and using it is easier too! It basically comes ready to use and if you have to make it thinner - it works so much better. I had to tint it and I found that the color is easier to blend with this new version. I will be using this frosting from now on. I have not seen this version in chocolate yet. I think it would be perfect in chocolate!

I bought this to do a cake for my daughter since I am in between moves on and don't have my tools. This was oily and plain horrible tasting. I have purchased this before and it isn't supposed to be this way! And attempted to return it but they don't take food back at the UPS store and it was so oily that it ran through everything. Worst purchase. Shop local for items like this!
