I buy a car book for every car I buy they’re worth buying they help you with repairs

I used it to replace the rear shocks and battery on my 2008 Rabbit. I'm somewhat mechanically-abled but don't have much experience working on cars and the level was instructions for these two simple procedures was great. I plan to use it for basic maintenance like oil, brake pads, etc but the book does include more complicated tasks like work inside the engine system. The images are pretty low resolution, like something out of an old black and white newspaper, but the number of images and labels on the them make up for it. If that's not enough for you, there are plenty of free videos and forum posts on the internet to supplement this book. I used CarCareKiosk and some youtube videos.

Everyrhing you need to know to do the work yourself. Only gripe is Im tired of seeing pics inside these manuals that are not specific to the car model of which it is covering. Often I see the same pics used in manuals from this company used in other model car manuals. Makes the company seem old & cheap. Some of the generic pics look like they are from 1950. All in all not a huge deal however makes the books seem old and outdated. There is a lot to be said about keeping products current especially when paying prices that are current. ; )

Gotta have this for my car it's a necessity

I’ve owned plenty of Haines manuals before. This one is the first, where I had to ask other mechanics on what they are trying to say, due to the text not being so clear. Pictures, and diagrams are horrible in some areas, and really could have been done better. I’ll prob stick with going to YouTube, and keep this as a backup reference.

I buy one of these for all my vehicles, I realize most people today couldn't get fire from a match, however if you want to learn how to fix your vehicle and save money with step by step instructions, then this book is great!

Lots of info. Also it's all online... so depends on what kind of person you are.If you need it in writing, I highly suggest getting this book.

Didn't have what I was looking for.

Literally says "To solve a DSG problem is outside of the scope of this manual" so if you have a dsg problem you dont have any info, just general maintenance

Not a fault of the product as Haynes manuals are generally pretty good. But We bought this specific manual for a 2008 Jetta City and found it not as applicable as expected. I believe the manual for 2004 Jetta would be more applicable to the 2008 “City” version. Clarification in manual title and applicability would have been helpful. Perhaps this review can help someone else.
