Excellent mouthpiece!!

Finally a company is making a really good mouthpiece for a decent price. I've played saxophone professionally for over forty years-yikes!-and I have recommended this piece to several other professional players that have purchased them and are totally satisfied with them. I have two #7's and a #6; they all play well, but even though they are "cad-cammed" and should play identically, they don't-but they are close. The second #7 I bought plays a wee bit better than the first #7 I bought, but that said, I am totally happy with the first one. I bought the second #7 as an experiment and was rewarded with a very-slightly-better piece.Ironically, sonically (and pneumonically, mnemonically speaking). I like the 6 better, though I usually play a wider tip opening than even the 7; the last few years I've been playing a Meyer NYUSA small chamber that the great Ted Klum refaced to .088", and I just had him make me one of his pieces, also at .088". I'm playing this one now, though, good as the Klums are. A fellow saxophonist that purchased one of these pieces just sold his NYUSA 6M Medium because this plays so well. In addition to this mouthpiece sounding good, it is very easy to control, and the intonation is spot on (for a sax). I'm playing a 78k Mk VI or a 298K Super 20; my buddy is playing a gold plated 6m Conn (tranny, with same side bell keys). Frankly, the D'Addario is MUCH more in tune on his Conn-the Meyer made his pitch spread a bit (high on top, low on bottom). To wrap up, it's a really good mouthpiece-very flexible sonically, great core, excellent intonation, easy to play and control. Many Meyer-like qualities without sounding just like a Meyer. Priced very reasonably by today's standards (I bought my first NYUSA brand new for $20!). Something I can recommend to anyone without hesitation-students included. Now, if they'd just make one for tenor....!

Great improvement to stock mouthpiece.

This is a great improvement to what comes stock with my saxophone but then again it's about double the price of the stock mouthpiece. I seem to be able to play jazz pieces with better sound versus other mouthpieces. Would recommend.

Bright and Easy Play

Played long time on Vandoren A35 (2.06 mm) with 2/2.5 reeds.Purchased this one to try if will see any significant difference, and just to try something new.Played today morning in the park.OMG !!!! Very Bright, High Notes are so easy like no embouchure needed at all ))).It has much more high frequencies in the spectrum for sure.Probably because of material quality, because A35 sits with same position on cork.Sure there are other differences - like baffle profile etc.Really love this one.

Excellent Mouthpiece but bore fit somewhat tight

Good mouthpiece for me ( jazz and R&B/Pop intermediate sax player). Well made but bore is somewhat tight and may need to sand some neck cork, or apply extra cork grease. This fact was confirmed by other alto players in the forums and reviews out there. I actually had to finally replace an old neck cork that was stripped after using this mouthpiece several times. With the new cork on the alto neck this now fits perfectly (but my other MPs are slightly looser). Otherwise,it can compare to far more expensive "hand made" pieces.

Worth it!

I downloaded an app to check how in tune I was. I kept thinking there was something wrong with me not being able to stay in tune, this coming from someone who played in middle and high school band in the late 80's early 90's. I finally decided to try a different set of reeds. Got closer but not spot on. Then decided to buy this mouthpiece. Wow! Wala fixed my issues. I don't know why I couldn't stay in tune with the old mouthpiece but this does project more sound, clearer, with excellent tones and is showing in tune on all the notes.Really an impressive difference.

Decent jazz piece - however tight on neck joint.

I was very pleased with the tone of this piece, however the boring is quite tight on my alto neck, therefore for me, the intonation will be just slightly flat - without thinning my cork much.I could simply sand down my alto neck, but I’d rather not - since I have another regular mouthpiece that fit perfect. I returned this.

Plays great but smells like urine

Great mouthpiece, plays and feels great, but came with a moderate urine odor that won't come out. I've tried scrubbing it with dish soap, soaking in lukewarm water and vinegar, and even leaving it in a cold cup of mint herbal tea overnight work no success. Has no impact on playability at all and probably was just the result of a chemical used at the factory but still - its definitely a problem.

My new favorite.

A great versatile mouthpiece. I like it better than my Meyer 5M. With a Legere Signature 2.5 I can get the lowest notes as well as the highs. A green Java 2.5 gives more brilliance and "pop" for when I need that. Your alto jazz mouthpiece search should start with this one.
