La CosteñaRefried Black Beans 20.5 oz (12-Pack)

I've always liked La Costena refried beans. The first time I tried their refried black beans was by mistake when a can of them were accidently purchased instead of the refried pinto beans I would normally buy. I was making a taco dinner that included mexican rice and refried beans. I ended up liking the refried black beans a lot. I sometimes buy the refried pinto beans and different brands of beans. However, This brand of refried black beans is my absolute favorite! They aren't always available where I'm shopping but I usually choose them if they are. I love the flavor and texture of these beans. They are always the same high quality product every time. I like that they come in 20 oz cans instead of the 15 ounce cans like the other brands on the shelf. they go farther and cost the same or less than most of the popular brands that come in 15-16 oz cans. These refried black beans are always thick and creamy. They aren't oily or too salty like some brands tend to be. I usually heat them and eat them as they are but if you're someone who likes to doctor your beans up, these work very well for that. Since these are thick and dark they work well for adding a little milk or cream to lighten them up and make them creamier. I will occasionally add a little diced jalapeno or chili pepper to spice them up a little but they are flavorful on their own. These are sometimes hard to find on Amazon for a decent price. This last time I found a 6 pack of the 20 oz cans for a decent price.

These are our favorite brand of refried beans. The case arrived in perfect condition and cost less than buying them at my local grocery store.

These are a good deal for the amount you get. They are a little on the bland side. I think they could use a little more seasoning or salt. Not bad though.

Add hot sauce for more heat. Bargain price for quality product.Best part is easy to open cans.Good fiber source.

Any other canned refried beans is tasteless. I will continue to buy only this brand!

1 can was opened and distributed throughout the case. After cleaning up the mess, I see that several of the other cans are heavily dented.BONUS: The overwhelming smell of refried beans in my car, after the 20 minute drive home, is legendary.

We usually go with the basic pinto refried beans, but sometimes we just crave the flavor of the black beans. These are tasty and mild, so you can spice them up to suit your taste.

A great recipe when you don't have time to make them yourself. Sadly they were all bent and smashed during shipment. Still okay but when you have a dozen to store, stacking is a bummer.
