Allegra KWomen's 2024 Pea Coat Single Breasted Long Winter Coats for Women

After trying on over a dozen coats in the past 2 months, from pricey (Badgley Mischka) to ultra-affordable (Amazon Essentials), I ultimately ended up keeping this Allegra K coat in the pretty Cream color, due to the right balance of style, versatility, and affordability.Unlike most of the other coats I tried, this is a very feminine princess cut that highlights the waist. When buttoned, the coat is very flattering. Even if you leave the coat unbuttoned, it still has a feminine shape that follows your waist and then flares out (significantly) at the bottom hem. I wear between a Medium and Large in outerwear, and both sizes were actually fine on me, but if you have a large bust, you may need the larger of 2 sizes.This is a medium-to-lightweight coat, but since I live in Northern California, this is fine for me. If you live in a very cold climate, it might not be enough, especially with the open neckline. The collar won't stay popped, FYI. I'm 5'6" and the length is roughly lower-mid-thigh, which is ideal because it's such a versatile length. You can easily wear this with casual clothing and workwear. (I tried on many below-the-knee coats, but they were all too dressy for just running to the Post Office, if you know what I mean. I needed a coat that would keep away the chill, cover my butt, and work with any style of clothing and shoes.)It's polyester, not a wool blend, but the real advantage is that it's potentially possible to throw this in your washing machine in an emergency. I haven't tried this myself with this coat, FYI---but I have successfully washed similar polyester blazers without ruining them. Can't do that with a wool coat! (Tip: use warm water, mild detergent, and hang dry.) It might pill a little, but that's what fabric shavers are for.Finally, the Cream color is a bit of a chameleon. In broad daylight, it looks like a bright bone color. In dim light, it looks more like ecru or even fawn. It's an attractive color. I also ordered the Hot Pink, which was a gorgeous neon, but ended up returning it since I'd get more use out of a neutral. Overall, this is a good coat for the price, as long as you are fine with the light weight polyester and super-feminine shape.

This coat was an all around disappointment.1) The sizing is off. I ordered my coat two sizes too big and it was still too tight in the arms and around the chest.2) Even is it fit I would have to return it. This isn’t a coat. It’s as thick as a suit jacket with the length of a real coat. Basically this is suitable to be worn outside in weather that does not require a coat but you’d still look extra dumb wearing what appears to be a thick long coat even though it’s not.3) The material is thin and flimsy at best so you are more likely to pick it up and feel startled at how different it looks from the photo. The picture implies this is a nice dress coat that can be worn outside in colder temperatures - false!4) The seller is not local which explains why the sizing is not accurate for American or even European sizing.Save yourself the return!

This review is on the "BLACK-1" coat in XS and S.SIZING:Because I was unsure of my size, I ordered two coats--one XS and a one S. I am usually an XS but past reviews say the sizing is all off. However, for me the sizing is true to size. For reference I am 5'3", 123 lbs and my chest size is 34C. The XS fit me perfectly.MATERIAL:My initial reaction was that the material felt way better than I expected--I didn't have high hopes because of the mixed reviews and unflattering customer photos but I decided to take a chance anyway. In other customers' pictures, this coat seems very wrinkly. That wasn't the case for me. Both coats I received were not wrinkly and the material looked nice. However, wrinkles might be more visible on the light colored coats.I would say this is a fall coat. The material isn't thick but it's not thin or flimsy either. But I could wear this during NYC winter with an extra layer.STYLE:This is a nice looking coat but I didn't like that it flared out so much below the waistline. I was looking for a straighter coat. Also, it was too long for my taste. For the model, the coat appears to reach her mid-thigh. I guess I should have known it would be knee-length on me because I'm short.Overall, this is a decent product. Unfortunately, I had to return it because of personal preference.

The size Large is on the right in the first photo (with both coats on a carpet). My measurements with medium-weight turtleneck and jeans is 40-38-40. I'm 5'6". Believe it or not, the jeans are a size 8 and the turtleneck a size medium. I'm writing this elaborate review because Allegra K clothes are *really* nice, and because I'm one of those troublesome sizes that always have a problem with one size being too small, the next larger being dumpy. In two adjacent photos, you see how snugly the size medium fits. Unbuttoned, it is extremely flattering. The size large is as dumpy as all "sized-up" coats always are on me, but it can be buttoned :) and worn in winter. The size medium literally is like second skin. The size large (size view) can accommodate a sweater. Hope this helps.

I love this coat, decent quality. It's soft and exactly as pictured, I love the lining inside. I went ahead and ordered the blue one as well. I ordered a size large (US 14). Large is a good fit for sizes between 12-14. This coat is very long for persons under 5'3 the waist area of coat aligns with my hips. Makes the fit look very awkward. Other than that it's a beautiful coat. :/

I ended up donating this to Goodwill because it was going to cost more than I paid to return to Hong Kong. Do not buy this coat!. Pictures are much better than the actual product; the coat felt cheap and was poorly sewn. Sorry..

Took advice from other reviews & ordered the 14/16 - large size. I'm usually a 12/14 but this fits perfectly. The sleeves are bit too long but otherwise it's perfect. The pink is gorgeous! Quite a decent weight & very warm! I'm very happy with it! It was quite creased when it arrived because of the way it was packed, but I used my steamer on it a couple of times & the creases just fell out.

For the money, this coat is just superb. Although I went up a size for it, the fit is brilliant. It did have a few creases though but I managed to get them out using a wet tea towel to press them out.
