Perfect for beginning readers
These are perfect. My daughter is 9n her way to 1st grade. In kindergarten she learned all her letter sounds and already started reading and writing. I got these books to help reinforce what she learned and keep her in practice. They have proven do just that. She can read them easily for the most part. On level C and D there are words she doesn't recognize but she is able to use sounding and the images to figure it out. Some people didnt like that they weren't in color but I think this just gives kids the opportunity to color the photos themselves and engage in a different way.

for the very beginner reader
These are great for beginner readers. They use simple beginning vocabulary and repetitive text. It's hard to find books that aren't too difficult for my emerging little reader. Many times these particular books are sold with 5 of each book in a set that's meant to be used at school. I was happy to find this set because there's only one of each book - just the number we need! Be aware that they're all black and white inside. At least the cover is in color. My child likes to read books independently and hasn't complained about the lack of color so far.

Every new reader NEEDS these.
After buying so many books at level 1 or pre-k and being frustrated because they are too difficult and too long; I was to happy to find these kindergarten books. Level A is the PERFECT starting point for new readers. It gives them a tiny bit of a challenge and then boosts their confidence by repeating the same words often, while still giving them a great story. I wish I had found these for my first son. I recommend these to everyone with young readers. SO VERY HELPFUL.

Good price for the amount of books though
“Squanto The Pilgrims Friend”?!?? I’m gonna toss that one in the trash. The instructions seemed to be for only one series of the books? I was confused on which to start with. You also have to be prepared to explain “I’d” or “I’ll” to a child who has only learned basic words. Good price for the amount of books though.

They love them. They r small enough for them to ...
Thank You! I sent these books for a Christmas gift to my grandsons. Ages 3 & 5. They love them. They r small enough for them to hold in their hands. The books are for several ages. Good quality and sturdy. I will continue to purchase from your store. Have a Great Day!

Just okay
These are okay. Being a teacher who is trained in leveling books, these levels are off. There are a lot of words in these books that are not picture supported and students wouldn't be able to sound out at a level A-D. While they are a good price, I don't feel they are the best for indeoendent reading or teaching students how to read at a beginning level. The pictures are all black and white as well so students won't be as excited to read them.
