Big Book of Indian Beadwork Designs (Dover Crafts: Bead Work)

This is a great book. Has lots of black and white patterns with what colors to use or you can color in your own colors. Love this book and use it for all my bead work

Yes, the book is in black and white, however, being a bead artist, I utilize a lot of colored pencils and graph paper for my own beadwork designs. I like how I can color and change the prescribed graph colors because of this. For me, I can do relaxing coloring and get a bead graph at the same time! Bonus!!! The black and white graphing should be familiar to anyone who does cross stitch or embroidery. If not, I can see where it might be a slight difficulty in following the patterns.Granted there are flaws in the warp thread count. I always count out my warp threads and hash mark them by tens anyway, so no big deal.The book is not a “how-to” guide.I also like that Dover Publishing picked these patterns up from her 4 volume set of “Designs for Beadwork, Appliqué, and Embroidery” which have become very difficult, if not impossible, to find. Dover picks up many vintage and antique designs for various artistic applications which artists love. Nice to see them preserving historically important patterns!Please don’t pass this one up because of the black and white patterns! It’s a great addition to anyone’s working collection if you take the time and have fun.

I DO A LOT OF BEADING AND THE DESIGNS IN THIS BOOK ARE SO VERY BEAUTIFUL AND EASY TO FOLLOW. IT HAS THE DIFFERENT TRIBAL DESIGNS WHICH ARE IMPORTANT TO ME IN MY BEADING. I WOULD RECCOMEND IT TO ALL BEADERS.

I also have the Kindle edition, and it's a bit of work to take a screen shot of the pages I want to color in, but it's possible (at least with my iPad it is - no idea on an actual Kindle). I make a screen shot and email it as a .jpg file to myself on a regular PC, then print out the .jpg. It would be nice to see color versions of at least some of the patterns. Overall, there are tons of designs available - just takes your imagination to fill them in!

Lots of ideas - lots of patterns - great book!

Ein tolles Heft voller Vorlagen für das Perlen weben und sticken mit englischen Kommentaren. Ich habe mir einen großen Kasten voller Buntstifte gekauft und die Vorlagen farbig gemalt, weil das Zählen der kleinen Felder sonst sehr anstrengend ist. Für meine Zwecke ist das Heft gut geeignet.

This is a brilliant book to have. Lots of designs to choose from and a opportunity to add your own touches around the home. Also the book can be coloured in with your own colours to suit different materials. Great company. Fast delivery and well protected packaging. Highly recommended......

ich bin begeistert, für jeden etwas dabei, zu beachten ist dass es ein reines Musterbuch ist, ohne Beispiele. Aber man kann die Muster in jedes Perlendesign Programm oder in eine Excel Tabelle übertragen, dann sieht man das Muster in Farbe.
