Q: Does this level need calibrated new out of the box or whenever the batteries are replaced?

Hello! Thanks for reaching out and supporting Digi-Pas. We recommend to perform self-calibration when you 1st use, fresh out of the box. However, you don't have to calibrate every time battery is replaced. Calibration frequency depends on how extensive the device is being used. After usage for certain period, If you suspect that your device may not be performing correctly, you may perform a quick 180 degree check. If reading are consistent and within specs, you should be good. If you like you may still perform self-calibration at your convenience.
