Taste great - bulk value, but DON’T buy when it’s warm weather
Reese’s make great pb & chocolate snacks - obviously as they are everywhere and liked by millions of people, so my review isn’t about the taste. Reese’s sticks are one of my favorite of their ever growing line of products, so I wanted to buy in bulk to see if it was more economical. It is, BUT with chocolate shipping is a gamble when the weather gets warm. Though the product was not a melted mess (thank heaven) they had softened considerably and the oil had saturated the paper ‘tray’ part of the packaging. They were completely edible and intact, but a few sticks were stuck together after slightly melting.I use to work for a company that sold snacks, nuts, candy & chocolate and we shipped all over the US. But one of the biggest headaches was shipping chocolate during warm months. Some companies completely opt out of shipping chocolate during the warm season, others spend a considerable amount for cold packaging to ship their products year round. We tried something in the middle, but still even with cold packaging shipping chocolate is a gamble. I was amazed at how many people didn’t put 2 & 2 together and realize that the risk of chocolate melting was exceedingly higher with warm weather. Even with bold warnings on the product listing. So basically I’m saying that shipping chocolate is a buyer beware situation. Good Companies may try their best, but with chocolate and heat there’s no guarantee. I knew that when I purchased, so I chose to take the risk and it turned out okay (not great) buying in April, but we all know weather is fickle. Be wise in your purchasing decisions.So I won’t be buying these again since it’s almost summer. Maybe in the winter? The bulk value was good.
