aFe PowerMomentum GT Cold Air Intake System w/Pro 5R Filter, #54-72102, Black

I have had multiple K&N Air Intakes on past vehicles, however this air intake is simply outstanding. This intake fits perfectly in my Ram 1500 (2018 model) and looks like it could easily be something that would be installed as an R/T factory standard. The intake filter is significant in size, however I can't confirm if mileage improves with this intake and I didn't buy this to increase mileage. I can also not say if the vehicle has increased HP - however with this being said you will immediately notice that the engine breathes so much more efficiently (particularly with the front cap of the intake removed) and the engine seems more responsive. As to under-the-hood engine noise, there is a magnificent growl from under the hood under firm acceleration that is distinctive and throaty and not annoyingly drone-ish like a K&N intake can be. This throaty growl is not present at all under general driving or highway speeds - it only comes on only under firm acceleration 'as it should'.As to ease of fitting, If I did this again it would take 10 minutes, however plan on about 30+ minutes on a first install following the instructions. The only complaint I had was that the underside 5/8" air connection tube is too long and will need to be cut as Ram leave 'Zero' tolerance for setting the intake high and this will need to be installed 'hard' down on the throttle body to ensure the unit fits under the hood.Other than this, the intake looks fantastic under the hood, it's professional grade and while more expensive than K&N or other intakes I highly recommend this intake as a clear 1st choice.

Yes, It's expensive. Yes, it looks cool. Put it in, took me about 30 minutes, didn't need instructions, but they are in the box.Adds a little open plenum sound, throaty like Darth Vader. Throttle response quite a bit sharper and faster on the upswing. I bought the oiled filter, I do that will all my dirt bikes, my Jeep and my 71 Challenger, its nice to be able to clean and keep.Haven't looked at the mileage yet so can't rate it, but that's a tertiary goal, but will update later on the results after a few trips. Before with my 09 Ram 5.7 was getting 15.3 around town if I was nice with a flashpaq eco tune. With the 93 octane HP tune was getting 15.1 around town. Towing my Bass tracker into the Central Idaho mountains was getting 14 to 15.5 on eco or towing tune. Freeway with no tow at a constant 80mph was getting 17.8 to 17.9 on stock tune, with the eco tune getting 18.5 to 19.1 with the same freeway at 80mph. If this gets me 1-2mpg will be happy with it.Oh, and when you lay into it, it sounds cool. Match that with a Magnaflow muffler and it sounds like a real truck.I mostly use this to haul toys and camping equipment, I like to pass people pulling trailers and boats going uphill, its fun... :)

I had just installed the Flowmaster Outlaw muffler on my 2017 Ram Hemi Sport so it already sounded great, so I don't notice a difference in sound after installing the AFE. Maybe you can hear a difference with the stock exhaust. But the truck feels much more responsive and happy to be able to breathe. Not sure about mpg. Not sure if it is better than a more reasonably price cold air intake. Looks awesome under the hood too. I love how the giant filter is enclosed for off road reasons and also for these nasty wet, dirty, salty, Minnesota winters.

Easy to install and looks good. Probably not worth $380. Throttle response and sound each improved just enough to say so, but it isn’t impressive at all. In fact, it is barely noticeable. I could think of a lot of ways to spend $380 that would be more rewarding than this. If you want to say you have the best cold air intake, buy it. If you want to gain power... buy a supercharger or a diesel truck cause this is child’s play.

Fit perfectly in my 2016 Ram 1500. I don’t feel major speed gains and haven’t noticed better gas mileage. I will say the truck definitely feels more aggressive and I combined this with an exhaust just to give it an aggressive sound from that Hemi! Sounds great with the combo. If I was to add long tube headers and time the truck I think I would get the real results from this filter but until then I still love it. Excellent quality built product that installed perfectly. Definitely would recommend this air filter!

Just installed today, and will try to keep up on edits with performance moving forward. Very simple install and parts fit very well. Instantly noticed my idle was lower, acceleration was smooth and more responsive, and the factory exhaust sounds deeper when you get into it. Reset my fuel mileage on the dash, just filled up, and will update when it’s time to refuel. Before install I was at 16.7 mpg avg.

This is definitely not a good purchase, issue with the filter not staying in the box (hose clamps pointless) it's just held in by the pressure of the tube, plastic around the top looks crummy and its a $400+ investment that I feel I'm not getting what I paid for. Customer service took over a week to get back to me just to inform me that's pretty much how it is. This is going back to Amazon. Might be a good purchase for someone used at half the price.If you expect the growl from the intake under heavy acceleration, you won't get that out of this intake.

Excellent product was a little skeptical about spending that much money but well worth it installed easley about an hour took my time doing it. took it for a 2hr drive open her up throttle response is excellent sounds like the engine is not working hard at all compared when I had the stock air filter and gets up to speed very quickly scary fast.i had a 40 series flow master installed about 2 months before with this combination is just incredible
