Linear Meter Carbon Fiber #6 Weave Hydrographic Water Transfer Film Hydro Dipping Dip

After two inital issues that were entirely my fault my 3rd attempt came out pretty well! Hope the information below can help someone else.1. Make sure you put the correct side down into the water! On Carbon #6 the BLACK SIDE goes UP. The actual carbon fiber print goes DOWN touching the water. I made this mistake once.2. You do not need a lot of activator, My 2nd attempt I sprayed it on like I was spray painting it. This caused the film to NOT STICK. It literally all just slid right of my piece like a slime. All you need is a light and easy mist about a foot away from the film. Let the activator "fall" onto the film, otherwise the force of the air will cause the print to move around and distort.3. As someone else said here dont use tape on the outside! My third attempt at dipping I took this advice and it was totally fine. The film will lay flat once it touches water, dont worry about flattening the film first.4. I did not base coat my piece based off others not doing it here. I just made sure it was cleaned very well. No issues here.5. Make sure you add a clear coat, this stuff can scratch off kinda easily.

I literally only read the instructions on the activator spray that i also bought from this company and it worked beautifully. This was the first time i have ever worked with this stuff.I had a couple of operator errors at first such as putting the film in the water the wrong way and pretty much wasting half of it, but once I figured out that I was an idiot, it came out great on the first actual dipping.I will definitely be buying a lot more of this stuff soon!

Terrible dip I’ve been hydro dipping for over 6 months now I needed some stuff fast so I went to this because the company I normally order product from takes a couple days to get to me. Picked the fastest shipping. Got here fast but the film itself is not good quality at all had a lot of imferpections in it from the get go so it made it difficult to make the final product come out clean. I got a couple smaller pieces to come out clean but since due do to the film couldn’t do anything larger then a couple inches wide. Also ordered another film and primer from the same company the film hand wholes in it and the premier didn’t spray unless I squeezed with but of Strength my finger had. And most the time it still wouldn’t spray. Very disappointed considering I had a client waiting and paid for couple pieces to be done fast

100%worth itPros- no need of base coat-easy to remove and try againCons- tiny dots in the film (O.c.d ppl will see)-loves to expand a lot like 2 in all around when sprayed with activatorOverall I would recommend this product just make sure u buy twice as much due to problems YOU may encounter. Little tip from me is don’t tape the film, will cause it to fold on its self. Instead lay it in and leave some space roughly 2 in for expansion. Took me half a roll to find that out hopefully it helps you.

Easy to use. Practice on a couple things first to get the hang of it. I’ve never dipped before and had great results. I Used their spray activator and this film, that’s it.
