Very nice chess pieces!
Wrote an earlier review (see below) & when I saw it in print decided it was much too harsh & needed an update: I actually love the detail put into the chess pieces & their colors allow you to see that detail much better than black & white (the craftsmanship is superb)!Was disappointed in the board; those fancy curly-que designs are a distraction that takes focus off the main attraction: the chess pieces!I have since purchased a quality board that better compliments the very nice chess pieces (they deserve 5-stars)!Earlier review:Liked the chess pieces; hated the chessboard!Would prefer a wood chessboard; the one provided looks cheap!

simply gorgeous
I had to write a review on this product because I love it so much. It is very difficult to find a chess set with character and this set by all accounts is just simply gorgeous. From the moment I unboxed it you can tell you have a unique piece. The sweet smell of burlwood with the lacquer gives it a unique experience kind of like the feeling you get in being in a bookstore with that unique book smell. The pieces are beautifully done with precision craftsmanship. The bottom of the board has just the right amount of velt on the edges to keep the board from slipping on my coffee table. The seller fulfilled all expectations. It is an amazing piece that is unique. It has aready brought me joy and I hope to have guest over soon to play some chess while enjoying a cup of coffee.

Details are fantastic
The board is very cool, but wish it was foldable for pieces storage n transport. The pieces are Smaller than I was expecting but the details are phenomenal. I absolutely enjoy playing with this set and look forward to many years of use with it.

Great Quality
Bought this chess set for my 13 year old grandson and he was elated. The craftsmanship shows through and given the price, I find it very fairly marketed. If your teen or older is looking for a higher quality chess set without breaking the bank, this fits the bill.
