Wake up to hot water and enjoy instant hot water all day

Great for group settings or for single heavy hot water drinkers like me. I fell in love with large Zojirushi hot water thermoses when I worked in an office in Japan—imagine having piping hot water ready to make tea with, all day long! I hesitated to splurge on a Zojirushi back in the US, because traditional electric kettles are so cheap and ubiquitous. But after several highly-rated electric kettles broke in some way or another within a few months of being used multiple times a day (I like tea and even prefer to drink plain piping hot water over cold), I decided to go for the Zojirushi during a sale event. It was well worth the splurge! On work nights, I can set the time delay function to have the water hot and ready at the perfect temperature for my morning tea when I wake up, with enough water left over to fill both my and my partner’s work thermoses as well. On the weekend, I can leave the keep-warm function on to instantly warm up or brew a new cup of tea throughout the day—with its 3 liter capacity, I rarely need to refill the device or reboil from scratch. The temperature settings may feel limited but are all you need for most varieties of tea or coffee. The wide opening makes for easy filling, emptying, and cleaning, and was also the perfect size for scooping out water with a hishaku for an informal tea ceremony experience. I highly recommend using the suggested cleaning tablets, as mineral scale will gradually build up over use, and the tablets (combined with the device’s self-cleaning function) work really well at eliminating this natural buildup and keeping the device in prime working order. The one thing I think Americans might need to get used to is the need to unplug it to turn it off (and to prevent it from boiling dry when low), but in this case that means easily detaching a magnetic safety plug rather than unplugging it from the wall outlet itself, so there’s little effort needed and minimal, if any, wear and tear to the device or your wall outlet. 6 months into repeated daily use and no issues yet—if this goes on for another year, I will end up saving since I don’t have to keep replacing worn-out kettles!

Keeps water hot and not just for tea

I was stationed in England and Korea where I liked drinking hot tea. Ive had one of these for over 15 years. Not only is it great for tea but he instant hot water is awesome for cooking as well. Dry soups, ramen, mashed potatoes, even filling a pan for making mac and cheese is faster bcause it instantly starts boiling! We live in an all solar home so we watch our watts. This kettle is efficient, holds a gallon of water and as long as you use Reverse Osmosis water cleaning is a breeze. If not every six months soak in vinegar and rinse. The kettle looks nice and not too bulky. We put it on a sliding coaster so we can pull it forward if needed and the cord is plenty long for that. All in all I can't see us without one now. Great price and great quality.

Reliable water boiler, easy to use

Bought this for my elderly parents back in 2021. It is very convenient for them to just pour water into it and wait for it to boil. I do not want them to use the stove so much these days. They use this daily and it is consistent and does what it needs to. A previous Zojirushi I bought for them in 2015 lasted for about 6 years before it cracked and water leaked out. Hoping this one will continue to work for a few more years before I need to replace it.

Perhaps my most used kitchen appliance, third one I've bought

I have loved everything I've bought from Zojirushi. They make quality products, especially their water boilers/warmers and their rice cookers. Our first one lasted about 10 years with very heavy use. We've had our second for about 5 years. When I got a job that required me to live apart from my wife for a time, one of the first things we bought for my apartment in the other city was another Zojirushi water boiler. It is not as convenient as having a more expensive water boiler/cooler that connects to your plumbing, but in our kitchen that wasn't practical and would be a lot more expensive and in my apartment away from home, it isn't an option. This fits nicely and looks nice on a countertop without taking a lot of room. It would also be perfect for an office.I usually use it to make tea and pour-over coffee. Because I usually just use an aeropress to make coffee (and my wife prefers instant coffee for convenient--I love her but she's not perfect), I don't have a separate coffee make on the counter. It holds 3 liters, so depending how many people are using it to make tea/coffee and how much they drink, I find that we have to add water about every two days. By myself in my apartment, and in the office full time during the day, I have to refill it about once a week, sometimes twice.Cleaning is easy. You can buy zojirushi cleaning packs, but they are just citric acid power. You can buy it cheaper in bulk. I usually just get the zojirushi cleaning backs though for convenient. You pour in the powder, water, and push the cleaning button. How often you do this depends on how hard your water is.

boils and keeps water at 175F, 195F or 208F

This boiler boils and keeps water at 175F, 195F or 208F. I got it to make tea without waiting for the water to boil. Its working great so far. Its well insulated & does not consume much electricity. Its a but traditional looking so if you’re design focused, this is not great. But functionally it works as advertised.

Fantastic kitchen addition

I use this thing daily ever since I got it, and can’t believe how much it’s transformed the way I do things. I find myself always using this for everything from tea to ramen cups and everything in between. It’s quick, convenient and has plenty of space for enough water to last a good few days. Definitely recommend

The lid is very loose!but quick boil!

This kettle is very easy to use. It boils very quickly. There are four temperatures for you to choose from. Very good. It also has a water level. It is not perfect. To be honest, the lid is very loose! So you have to be careful when opening the lid! The temperature is 208F (98C). Is 100C the temperature for boiling water? ? I am still using it!

Worth the price!

Wow. One of the greatest investments. I have gone through multiple electric kettles before this and nothing compares. Its sleek, fast boiling, and easy cleaning. I loved it so much I ordered one for my parents. Great item
