Looks like a well made hemostat with many possible uses. Comes in a plastic bag that is open at the back. It can be taken out and handled by anyone, and in fact, there was grease and fingerprints on the one I got. Maybe the grease was there to prevent rust. Stainless steel should not rust. So maybe the grease and fingerprints are there because of unsanitary manufacturing, or maybe it is not really stainless steel. In any case, the hemostat is not in any way sterile. Expect to clean it thoroughly as soon as you get it, and store it in some other container that is not greasy inside. Do not use it for medical reasons until you have cleaned it.

Surprisingly well made, better than most of the kit I use for simple suturing on actual patients.

Great for a verity of uses

I remember my dad used to have a pair of these and they always came in handy. So when I saw these I knew it would be a great tool to have. The size is just right for small tasks and hard to reach areas, plus they lock in position for holding, twisting, etc. The first thing I put these to use on was when I needed to do some soldering of parts to fix a small electronic item. These make precise work much easier and really saved me a lot of effort. It was able to pick up a tiny surface mount resistor and place it very accurately. It gripped well without damaging it at all and kept my hands far enough away from the heat.These are very nicely made with all smooth edges, easy use, and a good finish quality. The finger holes are comfortable and fit fine in my hands and the jaws have a great grip pattern that works well in a lot of applications. These are small enough to keep in any toolkit and they bring a lot of functionality so are absolutely worth having around. Overall I am very happy I got these and highly recommend!

These are pretty good quality overall. You can definitely see the evidence of hand finishing on the handles, but for the price they're great. The latching on mine is good - reliably engages without have to struggle to undo the clamp when needed.
