The slot head screw seems strange, however that's what I needed for my '51 style P Bass. Be prepared to swap the screw for a Phillips head

This is a standard fender string tree for most guitars

These guides were different from what I expected, but I might have been mistaken. I found theseguides too low (they sit too close to the wood when installed, I had some fender basses for comparison,and the guides on them were "taller", the strings had less angle and pressure over the nut).The finish is not good too; albeit being a fender product, these guides look like made in a hurry, withtooling marks, no polish whatsoever. Again, in comparison to the ones in the fender basses I hadfor comparison, these look too "vintage".

This replaced a part that I somehow misplaced. I took apart my Made in Mexico version J-Bass. I went to change all of the parts out to black parts. In the end I was unhappy with how the new parts worked (especially the tuners), so I decided to go back to the original chrome. Somehow in the process I lost the string tree, so I bought this particular one and it worked just fine!

Hate the slotted screw. Finish could be better. It has several small nicks in the metal. Is that why it is vintage?Looks like the correct shape though. Looks aside, it functions like it should, assuming one does not use the incorrect screwdriver and marr the slot in the screw while tightening it.

It works as advertised. It’s the right size for the strings and replaces the old/missing one.
