Put new Black Teflon Tape on the sealer to make this work great.
If you are having problems with the unit sealing your bags and the heat sealer black tape has an crease or imperfection in it please buy this Black Teflon Tape listed below off Amazon for under 9 dollars. Foodsaver's website does not sell this. Old style works best.
Had a fancy version prior and this is my third Foodsaver brand vacuum sealer. Quality is great and the simple design and function is preferred for operation and cleaning. Fully automated models are a pain to clean and can be harder to use.

Ease of use
I did a lot of research and talked to numerous people that vacuum seal their foods before deciding to buy the food saver brand. Love this machine!

Good results, a bit cumbersome to use
This replaced our old “upright” FoodSaver. With this one you have to open the machine and place the end of the bag over the liquid tray every time you seal. (On the old one you just pushed the bag into the slot and it sealed). There was a short learning curve but we’re not in happy with it.

Pretty happy with it
It does it’s job, although I find that it has no way of doing just a little bit of suction since if you stop the suction midway all the air comes back it. Also the having to manually choose vs dry is a pain in the neck. Otherwise good. Wouldn’t mind if it came with more bags or rolls.

Doesn't work with Mason Jar attachments.
I did my research and ordered this Food Saver and thought I read specifically that it worked with the Mason Jar attachment which I ordered and now have to return.
