Im extremely satisfied with this light
Im extremely satisfied with this light, while the battiers dont last forever they will last for numerous evenings if you remember to turn them off when not using them. It does its job quite well and goes great with the the two frames I have. While the bendy portion does not allow you to customize its curve, the stem can easily be twisted to allow the light to lay tucked flat against the wall out of the way for moments when you are worried about clearance issues (such as moving a bulky item through a hallway.)You will definitely want to use these with rechargeable batteries but the light can be unhooked and batteries added very easily. -- It comes with a plate if you needed to affix this tightly, but the unit is so light you really dont need to.

Remote controlled picture lamps, are also portable
I bought two of them for a Christmas present to light up two of the several paintings that my mother did some years ago that are on display in the living room. She is very happy with them. She likes the fact that she can light them and dim them remotely from across the room using the remote control. (I do not think that she even used the on/off/dim button on either of the lamps to this day). That proved useful during this Christmas season because one of the pictures would have been hard to reach due to the placement of the Christmas tree blocking access to the corner where one of the paintings was located. They are not used every day, but are on when company comes over and also some evenings. She generally does not have the lamps turned up very brightly, just up enough to nicely accent the pictures over the room lighting. The batteries are still good and have not been changed since I put them in on Christmas day. That is about 1 month ago now. Each remote works to turn on both pictures. You just need to aim the remote at the light you want to control. If the pictures are close enough together, you can control both at the same time. The remotes seem to work well at up to 15' away. When you get to 20 or 25 feet away, that seems to be out of range. I have not changed the batteries in the remotes. The lamps are light enough that instead of screwing them onto the wall or easel above the pictures, I cut up a corrugated cardboard box then screwed each lamp onto cardboard using the supplied screws. I cut the cardboard so that it would fit between the hanging wire nails on the back of the pictures and also not extend beyond the width of the lamp base. I then slid the cardboard behind the pictures . It can then be easily removed for replacing batteries and for locating to other locations if desired.

Nice illumination but use rechargeable batterries.
Others have noted correctly the shortcomings: short batttery life and inadequate light. But price was good and fir occasional use the illumination isn't bad. Strongly suggest enerloop rechargeables. With regular batteries definitely not worth it. Bought a third one because wwt's the only cheap led around. Antique gold finish a lot nicer than the others.

I didn't write a review right away but now that I've had it for a year or so I can say that I would not recommend this product
I purchased this to replace an old electric frame lamp that bit the dust. I didn't write a review right away but now that I've had it for a year or so I can say that I would not recommend this product. The double A batteries in the lamp don't last more than a day or so before it starts to dim so if you want to use it daily it gets expensive really fast if you are dedicated and keep changing them. You need the remote to turn it on/off so you better not lose it. The other day I went to turn it on and the remote didn't work at all. Checked and changed batteries on the lamp and remote but I have a dead unit.Cannot recommend for any reason, a bad purchase all around. Go with an electric unit.

Buy the Rite Lite if you need a Solution to a Wired Light
I put up a small 14"w x 18h" curio cabinet for displaying meteorites on the wall in a fairly dark corner. The cabinet has a mirrored back. For my main display case, I have a plug-in, incandescent light bar and it is perfect. I knew I would need a compromise to put a display in my selected location for this "phase 2" display case though. No existing wall outlets nearby, too much work to wire in a new outlet. So far the wireless Rite Lite has proven to be a good alternative for me.You need to have realistic expectations about this light if you intend to purchase it. Some of these include:1.) It is not useful for long-term illumination of your collectibles or artwork. 3AA batteries simply won't power (8) LED lights for extended periods of time. For me this is OK. I usually light my display case (located in my bedroom) for a short period of time before I turn-in.2.) My curio case is 18" in length. With the stand-off for the light mount, I probably illuminate a total length of 20" below the lamp and I think it is pretty well maxed-out at that distance. The 13" width gives me excellent light distribution within this range though.3.) The light is not pure white as mentioned by other reviewers, but for me it works nicely.Overall, I think many reviewers expected way too much from a battery operated light priced under $25.00. I would still recommend it if you can live with the limitations I have listed above and, on the positive side, this is what I really like about this light.1.) It looks great! I bought the Dorado Bronze and it has an attractive finish.2.) The remote control is so cool. On-Off-Dim all work great.3.) Installation is very easy with the little bubble-level built into the mounting bracket.**4.) It provides a nice, short-period light source for locations where wiring better lighting is difficult. This lamp option is not perfect, but if you don't feel like ripping up walls or looking at hanging cords from your display, then I think this is a good trade-off.**If you are mounting to drywall, then you will need to buy (2) plastic drywall screw anchors (the yellow ones) at your hardware store (yes I agree it would not have killed them to include these). I bought a couple of #6 pan-head screws to make the mounting more secure since the included screws are tiny (total cost $0.50).

Convenient Lighting - But a Little Hard on Batteries
This lighting unit allows us to light a piece of art on a wall without direct electrical connection, so very convenient. Also, the remote control allowed us to install the unit in a location (high on a wall, over a fireplace) where manual control would be decidedly inconvenient . Easy to install and positive appearance. The one detraction is that the unit drains batteries fairly quickly, so that we find we use the light somewhat less than we might like.

Did half the job for 18 months
We had this for 18 months before it died on us. It was good when the batteries were new but the brightness didn't last very long afterwards. If you are going to buy this, you should get rechargeable batteries and prepare to change them regularly. When it went out for the last time I figured that the batteries in the light died again but changing the batteries didn't work. I then changed the battery in the remote ($7 for the battery) and it still didn't work. I would recommend to think twice before buying this product

Could be a 5 Stars easily...
Looks, works great however if you're seeking for quality price, they neglected the quality in the manufacturing of this all plastic item.I don't know if i would buy another unless the quality improves.
