My AT-AT now has it's back up!
I am not an MISB collector so I purchased this to play and appreciate. The toy box had some dings but it doesn't matter as the content is pristine and factory tied. I am not presenting myself as some expert on Star Wars figures being primarily a Transformers fan so this is straight out sincere and honest appreciation. Before the positives the negatory(?):1. No instruction manual. Is the Black series vehicles supposed to have one?See? Only one, somewhat. Now on to the vehicle.1. I had the opportunity to purchase the original but updated PotF mold of the AT-ST. The one without a pilot and the cockpit just fits one figure PotF version which I ditched. I did buy the PotF AT-ST pilot but he was so lonely lol! I was fortunate to find this AT-ST which is the updated #2 seater cockpit version .2. Pilot , which is included is a new mold with more points of articulation and a removable helmet. I do have some minute issues with his right elbow joint which doesn't fold. I did not want to push my luck so didn't force a bend. He comes with an Imperial pistol.3. Being a #2 seater so now, I used the previous PotF AT-ST pilot. Being a more bulky mold, you need to get the position right to get him to fit the cockpit seat, so yup, kind of compatible with the older figs.4. AT-ST.4a. The meat of the review. Details wise, your typical sci-fi military mech. Drab gray (I assume this is the ESB motif) with right amount of detail. Inside the cockpit, the details are factory applied decals and well sculpted control instruments. Hb spray painted some rusting effects on the feet and upper thighs. The windows now are separate parts that can be opened. Leg ratchets are tight.4b. AccessoriesThe side anti-personnel guns do a 360 same with the cab. Double hatch opening. Also included is a bigger Fn gun that can be used to replace the standard factory attached. This one has a missile(2) firing gimmick. Only issue again I got is that once you attach it, it is impossible to remove. I am not risking potential damage so just left the BFG in place.Balancing issues. Yup! There will be issues indeed due to the overall design of the vehicle. But from what I read in previous reviews and feedback from another SW focused site, YMMV? The latter from which I got a lowdown on the AT-ST good and bad attributes is that it is a pain to pose but that this new version already dealt with balancing. Then another article says the opposite. So go figure. In my case, I did not have any IF, as in IF you don't set the legs the same way the box picture is posed. Yup! You have to allow a little slack to adjust the center of gravity. If you set the leg's (the ones connected to the cab all parallel) like the box image, given the weight of the cab, it falls ka-splat face first. You also need to factor in how thin the legs are. They do wobble a lot.So is this worth purchasing? Verily! I grew up with the Legacy trilogy and watched this with my late Dad. And I recently got access to several 1995 up figures just last December 2024 that were so cost friendly that I could not resist. They were based on the original Kenner molds so good enough for me. This one is technically my 1st updated Hb one. I'm in dopamine high so very satisfied with this.I am now fighting the urge to look for Ewok figures to role play the RotJ scenes in Endor. Lol!

So glad I bought this!
Very cool item. I was concerned about balance after reading the reviews but I'm thrilled with mine. I had a little trouble at first but after putting a couple figures in it (helped with weight distribution) and some fine tuning it's tall, solid and easily repositioned. I understand how some reviews could be concerned about it being flimsy, I would recommend it for adult collectors and gentle play. The level of detail is great although the paint could be a bit more thorough. The included swappable extra gun with spring loaded blaster bolts is a great bonus and adds an extra level of playability. Overall, a great addition to my display collection and probably yours too.

Those Feet are made from Ewok Stomp'n!
The Black Series does a good job with the spindly legged AT-ST Walker. Yeah its a top-heavy (giggity) scout walker, but the leg articulation helps balance this big headed danger-bot out. The updated cock-pit is finally a two seater as per the movies, and the interior detail is pretty convincing as well. The AT-ST driver figure is pretty good deal as an Imperial Goon. The removable helmet is a nice touch as well.

Standing weakness. Still worth it
It is very challenging to get it to stay standing, the joints where it bends gives way to the total weight of the top. For my application I was lucky that it is tightly held up between to contact points. You could set it to the final position that you desire and super glue the joints to avoid collapse, but be aware that as it ships it is difficult to get it to stay up on its own.. super cool looking thou, and for the price I paid, I am still happy with the purchace.

Can't go wrong with star wars gifts
I was in my teens when stars came out. I went to see the first movie and was hooked. Now everything that is star wars if it is a good product I will buy for my grandkids happily knowing that they like something that I enjoy. So far the star wars tradition continues in my family.

Very nice
I bought this walker for my nephew, and it's very nice. My brother has one of the original walkers from the 80's and this one seems to be higher quality and more detailed, more of a collectible than a toy. The figure is fully articulated and has a removable helmet, a step up from the original figures.

Movable walker
This toy was awesome! You are able to fit people inside, change the guns, and move the legs! It was hard to keep the walker standing up. Although it didn't standup well, it was a cool toy.

Cool design, poor execution
The concept is very cool, until you take it out of the box. Bought this for my son who is a Star Wars nut. The legs are very flimsy and have like 6 pivot points. It is very top heavy and will not stand on its own. It also comes with a spring activated canon that shoots missiles but has no place on the walker. So if you’re buying this for a stay in the box collection I highly recommend, but if you are buying for your kids to play with stay away!!!
