Comparison test between 3 pillows from someone with chronic neck/back pain.
Comparison test between 3 pillows from someone with chronic neck/back pain.Beautyrest Extra Firm Pillow for Back & Side Sleeper, Two Pack, StandardvsOriginal Extra Firm Feather Pillow Standard Size 20" x 26". 220 Thread Count 100% Cotton Blue And White Stripe Shell. Guaranteed HypoallergenicvsPinzon Shed-Resistant White Duck Down Pillow - Firm Density, StandardI have chronic neck pain and toss and turn multiple times every night; changing my position; falling asleep on my back but turning from my left- to right side during my sleep. I feel better with an extra firm pillow that provides more push/bounce-back resistance. I purchased 3 pillows to give them a try. I was pretty sure the " Down & Feather Co" would be a winner due to the "Extra Firm" description; yet it came in 2nd. All pillows are perfectly fine but the "Beautyrest Extra Firm Pillow for Back & Side Sleeper, Two Pack, Standard " was a winner for me. Here's why:1st choice:Beautyrest Extra Firm Pillow for Back & Side Sleeper, Two Pack, Standard (manufactured and sold by Beautyrest). The winner. Plenty of bounce-back resistance from heavy head without being hard; the least likely to go flat from all 3 pillows tested. Additional pros: No noise from feathers. Pillow seems to mold easier at spots where extra support is needed. From the looks of it however; I does not compare to the luxurious looking " Down & Feather Co" pillow; but who cares about looks when all you need is a good night sleep...2nd choice: (manufactured and sold by Down & Feather Co)Original Extra Firm Feather Pillow Standard Size 20" x 26". 220 Thread Count 100% Cotton Blue And White Stripe Shell. Guaranteed Hypoallergenic. Looks fantastic; high quality pillow, love the look. I would love to rate this pillow higher but... it had less bounce-back resistance compared to the "Beatyrest" and the feathers still made a tiny bit of noise.3rd choice: (manufactured sold by Amazon)Pinzon Shed-Resistant White Duck Down Pillow - Firm Density, Standard. Had the least bounce-back resistance and went flat right away; no support for my neck. Is this really firm density? Needs lots more fill.

Really Firm and Really Great!
As mentioned in their description, for side sleepers these are truly an answer to prayer. Indeed when they first arrived I wondered if I'd carried "firm" a bit too far but within in week they'd softened just enough to be perfect for me. Also, and for needs you may not have considered, they're great for sitting a laptop on or a breakfast tray. Unlike flimsier pillows, they'll keep things sturdy and flat. Initially a bit large for a standard case but, again, with in a week, they've condensed down to a great size. It's my estimation that these are well priced. I've seen and tried other firm pillows that were three times the price of these and about the same in feel and head bearing weight. If you like firm pillows, these are the ones you've searching for. No shifty language about their being "firmer" than man pillows but-they always add this-still very comfortable. Add speak for the aren't firm and you'll be disappointed. But acquire these and you won't be disappointed and you will be supported firmly.

Good, but not the same
We owned a pair of Beautyrest pillows that lasted us almost 15 years before going flat. They had springs inside and were wonderful, staying fluffy and lofty for many years. Despite some poor reviews, I ordered these to replace them.I waited to review them until I knew how they'd hold up. We've had them now for over 6 months. Although not as thick as they once were (I think they were a ridiculous 11" thick when I unpacked them), they're still plenty thick and supportive. I was worried at first, because they seemed to be losing loft quickly in the first few weeks we owned them. I feared they'd be flat inside of 3 months. I'm pleased to say that has not been our experience. If you're expecting something like the original Beautyrest pillows with springs, you'll be disappointed. If you compare to most other pillows on the market, you'll be very happy.

My neck is in heaven.
I've only had these pillows for two hours and already I've gotten more support from them than from anything else in my life. Friends, family, boyfriend, take a tip from these pillows. After 20 years of sleeping on hard beds with rapidly flattening back-sleeper pillows, I finally decided I was fed up. Moving off-campus into my own house, I decided it was time to treat myself. I remembered the best nights of sleep I've ever gotten were at my best friend's house, a virtual paradise of gusseted pillows and featherbeds, and decided to call up her mother and ask her what kind of pillows she bought. She named three, and I opted for the option that contained no real goosedown. I have a pair of Sealy Posturepedic down mix pillows I bought for $10 apiece at Marshalls, and while soft and gusseted, they still flattened easily. As a broke college student, it took me a few weeks to finally get up the guts to "invest" in these pillows. I guess they're cheap for some people, but for a girl on a tight budget ("You already have pillows," my mother argued, "Why do you need more?") it was a commitment. I've been plagued with an achy neck and shoulders from craning over desks and textbooks since high school, and after a particularly bad week of pain I decided to go for it.I pulled the pillows out of the massive box Amazon sent them in (thanks for the free packing materials, Amazon), and immediately noticed they were significantly plumper than my queen-sized Sealy pillows. My standard-sized pillowcases filled them fine. I used them to support my back while I did some reading. They were so comfortable, I couldn't resist nuzzling down and going to sleep.I just had the best nap of my life. I think I'm in love. Get these pillows. They will complete you.

Best pillows I have ever bought!
WOW! What fabulous pillows, and a steal at this price ($59.29 CDN). Silky, firm and resilient, I can tell that these pillows won't flatten out soon, like so many other brands I have bought in the past.October 2017 Update: Just bought my second pair of these pillows. Got my first pair last June and after 5 months of use they are still very firm and have not flattened out at all. Best pillows I have ever bought! Please, Amazon, keep stocking these.March 2018 Update: Pillows are still great, although they have flattened out just a little bit after almost a year of use. Still lots of life left in them though. However, Amazon's price is now MORE THAN THREE TIMES what I paid for them just a few months ago, and I would not buy them again at this inflated price. What's up with that, Amazon?

Good night, sleep tight
My wife and I both now use and enjoy thoroughly. I'm a back sleeper and she's a side sleeper and yet both find these pillows suit us wonderfully. They are firm and hold their shape and height yet are form fitting so as to give support and comfort. A good quality of pillow for a reasonable cost. I do recommend without hesitation.

Very high loft, best for side sleeper men or women with wider shoulders
Side sleeper, bought hoping to get a good support but had to return. Like somebody said in previous reviews, these pillows are high loft and medium firmness. The loft was too high for me (I am 5'3" and wear plus petite where the shoulder length is shorter than in regular sizes). In fact, the loft was so high that my neck ended up being at an awkward angle and hurting within the first 5 seconds. I tried to adjust different ways but still found it to be very uncomfortable, to the extent of completely unsuitable. Glad I was trying it in the plastic bag, so could return. Please note that due to the very high loft you will need wider than regular pillow cases. I believe 24" wide will be the best to prevent bunching inside the case, 22" might do but definitely not the standard 20".

Nice and firm but thick
Nice firm pillows - don't block your nose if your sleep on your side ... but...they are quite thick -- my husband found the pillow just too high and I fin it a bit high hoping it will squash down.

Honest Review of a FIRM pillow.
Very Firm, Better than I expected! So used to reading firm and the pillow goes flat to the bed when your head lies on it. Even tried the bamboo ones, they were to soft even for a spare. If you want firm, really firm, then buy this one, after many tries of different brands, this is the BEST.https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B0039MHBWG/ref=cm_cr_ryp_prd_ttl_sol_0
