Bruno MarcMen’s Chelsea Boots Casual Slip-On Classic Dress Ankle Boot

This is my second pair of Bruno Marc shoes and am highly satisfied customer
I bought my first pair of Bruno Marc to replace a pair of Italian-made, black dress slip-on loafers. I could no longer find new ones for sale and then saw almost the very same thing for sale by "Bruno Marc" (made in China). But they looked exactly like my Italian shoes which I liked very much and the price was outrageously low. That was four years ago. They became my favorite "go to" dress shoe. The heals and soul will not wear out! The black leather (or is it fake leather--probably) always shines up very nicely. So these still serve me very well. Since I work out my Clarks Chelsea boots, I started looking for a replacement and found three very nice looking shoes in brown, which I wanted, and Bruno Marc was one them. No brainer! I bought them with confidence in the sizing and quality and wore them yesterday and today in total comfort. The build is very high quality like my other ones. I do highly recommend these. I wear a size 10 1/2 and these are true to size. My foot is very average with a high arch and these are comfortable wearing all day long.

Nice Boots
I usually buy size 9, but went with the Amazon recommendation to go with size 10. With original insoles, my feet felt a little loose walking in the boots. I decided to pull out the original insoles and saw that they were somewhat thin, maybe 1/4" thick. I put in a pair of cushioned insoles with thicker padding and now the boots feel great to walk in. Snug, but not chaffing. They look nice with casual or business attire. The treads are decent looking, though reviews indicate they may not last with moderate wear. No indication on how long these boots will last, but they look sharp and feel comfortable to wear. Will come back later to report after I've worn these boots for a while.

Great boot for the price.
Pros:This boot Is probably the closest looking (shape, style and pattern-wise) to a more expensive boot like Redbacks. They are very stylish and are almost a cross between a dress shoe and a work boot. I wear mine for work, which is often on constructions sites but I sometimes also wear them as casual footwear in my off-hours.Ankle is not too bulky so it fits fine with straight leg jeans. They look good even when you wear them with shorts.Cons:Arch support and inner sole padding under the ball of your feet could be better as compared to more expensive brands of chelsea boots. (I also have Redbacks and Rock Roosters and those are 9 out of 10 on my comfort scale), even after being on my feet all day. Comfort wise, Bruno Marcs are not horrible, but not the greatest either (I rate 5 out of 10). I use some $12 memory foam insoles and that bumps it up to 8 out of 10 on the comfort scale. They fit a little loose unless you double up on socks and/or use a foam insole like Dr. Scholls.Sizing: I wear a size 10.5 US sneaker but it is recommended that you go down 1/2 size for most brands of Chelsea boots, so I ordered a size 10 US and its still a little loose. I think another half size down (9.5 US) would fit more snug but I’m afraid it would be too crowded in the toe box. The size 10 US fits perfect IF you add a memory foam/gel insert. This is needed to improve the arch support anyway. They seem well made of quality man-made (synthetic) materials, but longevity of sole is my only concern. We’ll see how long they last. All in all, a good quality, good looking boot for the price. If they last a year or more, I’d definitely buy another pair of Bruno Marc boots!

Looks nice, but not my favorite
First of all, I recommend ordering one size down from what you normally wear. I normally wear a 14 and when I received these in that size (the number 14 was emblazoned on the bottom of the shoes) they were incredibly large, and they were slipping off my feet when I did a little test walk in them. Sent those back and ordered them again in a size 13 and they fit better now; but feel slightly loose around the ankles, and a bit tight/narrow in the mid-section of the shoe. Everybody is gonna have a sightly different experience with this because everyone has different sized/shaped feet of course. I have had great success with other Bruno Marc items in my regular size, so the sizing issue with these just feels strange. Some of my issue with the ankle area of the boots is remedied by wearing thicker socks, but it does make the rest of the shoe feel more narrow. I also had an issue where the shoe rubbed up against one of my ankles and agitated the skin. I'll just have to remember to wear longer socks with these. I'm also not used to wearing shoes without shoelaces, and sometimes they do feel like my foot is moving around a lot without that outside support, so it's something I'll have to get used to when wearing them. Not a great feeling though.I am pleased with the overall build quality and style of these, but I don't think I'd order this item again.

You Get What You Pay For!
This is what happens when you wait too long to buy shoes close to Christmas and end up desperate to fill a need. I didn’t pay attention to anything other than the picture and the price. Very foolish of me.I opened the box today and was immediately disappointed in what I found. So, I checked Amazon’s listing to see what I missed. I overlooked the fact that the material listed is “100% Synthetic”. I’ll give them that. It’s certainly synthetic. But it’s not even “good” synthetic (if there even is such a thing). I kept reading. The listing says that the lining is leather and the footbed is leather. Both are lies. The footbed is a cheap foam rubber that probably won’t last a month. As far as the lining goes, I’ve never seen leather that both looks and feels like cheap plaid flannel. There is no arch support and these 14s are loose enough to be 15s. But I guess you can size that way when you’re not paying much for materials.I will be returning these and never buy this brand again. Now, I have to go on a continued desperate search for the shoes I need.
