Great idea to get motivated!

This book is perfect for my 2nd grader. It’s not too intimidating and she enjoys the pictures. It also includes a checklist so she can go back and easily check her writing. I do recommend the book! The reason I am giving it 4 stars is because there is one picture where it looks like a boy is going to eat a pet turtle. It’s just a weird picture and my daughter was a bit afraid of it. I’m sure it could be made into a cute and fun story but she was concerned by the illustration.

Each page contains a simple black/white picture, a short list of words you might use to describe the picture, and lines for writing the story beneath the picture. That's it. It's fine for what it is, but expensive ($11.99) for the value. I would have expected to pay less than half this price for what it is.
