needed to rekey and entire house, bought 7 lock sets, each set came with a unique key and a 5 digit number (printed on both boxes), also a little tool and instructions for rekeying. I picked one to be the common key for all of the lcoks. and rekeyed all the other locks to that key. Then I made several copies of that key at the hardware store, then tested every copied key on every now-keyed-alike lock, they all worked, so I installed them all in the house. I kept all the unused brand new different keys and the tools so next time I need to rekey the whole house I will just rekey them all to a different key from the batch I have saved. rekeying the two locks in a set takes less time than writing this review.

The front door lock broke, so I had to replace it. I'd been using the old one for over 20 years, so I really wanted to stick with the same brand.Unlike the old one, this new lock has a smart key function, which was a huge financial benefit because I could keep using the four existing keys I already had.The installation was super quick, just like it said in the manual; I was able to replace both locks within 10 minutes. I expect to get at least another 20 years of good use out of this one!

minor annoying issue: the door knob lock is upside down, you cannot make it go the same direction as the deadbolt.it works but its annoying to have it upside down.maybe I got a defective one ¯\_( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)_/¯

Kwikset is not "quick."I bought this doorknob/bolt combo because it was affordable. But Gawd, I hate Kwikset. This is the second time I have had to remove the key bolt chamber because they are always upside down. In other words, you need to put the key in from the top not the bottom. They default for a door that opens to the left, not the right. Weird, all my doors swing to the right. This time, they did not include the tool needed to remove and flip the key chamber, so you need a long narrow screwdriver, a Phillips, and a pair of needlenose pliers to fix things. Thank you, YouTube (I think). What a pain! Other lock and doorknob makers make this much easier for customers, but Kwikset must get their jollies from this arrangement.Also, you turn the key to the LEFT to unlock the door. Is there anything intuitive about Kwikset? NO.
