Garage Openers and parts Door Adjustable Reinforcement Bracket, 18" L x 24" H

Today's lightweight garage doors require this beam with a door opener(GDO). A GDO installed wrong without it using the bracket supplied with the GDO bolted to the center stile, the upper section of the door can be destroyed by the opener pulling the entire doors weight against that thin metal stile. Mine came close to destruction. It was installed wrong in the summer with the bracket furnished attached to the center stile. It worked but winter came, the door bottom froze to the ground, and the door nearly got pulled apart.With damage done and to save it, I disconnected the GDO puller bar, straightened the top door section and straightened the center stile which almost pulled off. Now I've installed this beam and it works like a charm. GDO install books advise that it's mandatory, and it is. My door is 4 sections each 24" high. This beam is adjustable on it's length, and fits the 24" door section perfect. I removed the 2 hinge screws, put the narrow flat end of the beam right on top of the center hinge section, and put the wider flat end on the top, just 1/4" below the top edge of the door.This beam is narrower than some of the wider ones to be purchased, it's 1 1/2", but that doesn't matter. Most important is the side wall widths this beam has and the metal thickness,13 gage steel(.093). The 2 wide sides makes this product very sturdy.I went the extra mile and installed 2 full door width U shaped struts to stiffen the upper door section and to keep it from bowing in or out. I installed the lower strut across the width of the door and right on top of the flat plate of this beam. I drilled holes as needed. On the upper end I first drilled and installed 1 bolt through an existing hole in the wider flat plate of this beam and let that bolt head center the top strut. I then drilled and installed 2 more bolts through the U strut flanges, through the upper flat plate and into the door.For lifting, the beam has 3 cross holes across it's width for the GDO puller bar, and finding which one is best is easily done. Extra spring tension needs to be added to compensate for additional weights.Do the job right, install this beam on an original install, and door damage will not occur.

Works great, may have to be modified, but adds strength to the opener trolly arm that pulls the door up, easy install, may need longer screws on the hinge side, but that's what I mean by modifying

The bracket is solid and heavy, installation is pretty straight forward. I had to use bolt and nut to secure the top edge as the self driller screw does not hold anymore.

I found that this actually did not work. But, it is very strong and a great quality. I made a redneck install and made it work. I am happy to say it now works great. It is actually better quality than the original.

This was an upgrade compared to the little bracket that got ripped off my door. Very easy install that took 20 mins tops.

The media could not be loaded. Great product. Very sturdy . Make sure to do a thorough inspection of your garage door because other areas of it might be bend and your tensions wires from the hubs might be out of alignment. It gets Adam’s family Crazy dude ! Oh and if your garage door makes a lot of 🦇 bat squeaky noises then your wheels are HUNTED and you might need to replace them. Mine had a few broken BONES ! Good LUCK !

Great purchase. I was impressed with the quality and sturdiness. Solid as a rock. Well worth the cost. Also easy to install.

When my dinky bracket ripped loose, I was worried about the expense to get it fixed and tried to contact the garage company, that had a sticker on my door, but, the message I left was not returned. I looked up my problem, on you tube, and there were two videos that showed and explained what to do and both recommended your product, with a link to amazon. I ordered one and it came a few days later. I am not very good at tackling repair projects, but this one was pretty easy for me, after I realized that when I went to hook up the connection, that I had the bracket up side down, Thank goodness, all I had to do was remove the screws and turn it over. It is working great

This should last a long time. Just make sure it will fit on your garage door panels.

Product has good quality, got the job done. Could not find exact match of the old one.

That reinforcement bracket is simply awesome and really easy to install. Just make sure the bracket can fit between 18” to 24” inches and you’re good to go…
