First off if you have tiny tots, babies or children in your house at any time then this is NOT the receptacle for you. Get the tamper resistant electrical outlet recepticle to protect your babies. The few dollars more the new recepticles cost is nothing compared to a kids safety. That said, I'm an old autistic goat who hates the confusion kids bring to my life. Being autistic I never have children visiting my home for any reason.I like the old fashioned electrical recepticle outlets without the new fangled tamper resistant outlets. As the "Nanny State" tightens its clutches around consumers throats in the United States I rebel by buying newly outlawed technology I grew up with before its gone forever. The old technology worked. I read reviews where the new "Tamper Resistant" technology results in less than stable connections in some cases. Yes like any new technology "Tamper Resistant" outlets will have their growing pains.Like mold covered clothes from water saving washers all the kinks are not worrked out of high efficiency washers tamper resistant recepticles aren't quite good yet. Until all the bugs are worked out of these new tamper resistant recepticles i'll stick to the tried and true recepticles without the tamper resistant features. I'm not really fond of all this "Nanny State" intrusion into my buying decisions for my home so, I can live without the new tamper resistant electrical recepticles.

A 10 pack of Leviton quality for the same price as 2 Maynards in house garbage receptacles with no tension on ground per nec code. Worse then when the load side shrinks from heat and your appliance pulling 1200-1300 watts (oil filled heater) starts arcing at the plug and becomes a fire hazard.Yup, I'll stick with Leviton quality!

Lost power to half of my bedroom. Traced it back to one of these receptacles -- the quick wire insert was loose and over time got hot and started to char. Be careful and make sure you've got very good tension else you may run into problems down the road like me.

I purchased these to replace worn electrical outlets in my home. All of these were of good quality. The screws held up nicely, mounting hardware was installed and all of them and they appear to hold tightly when items are plugged into them. I do not have any complaints.

While I found these to be a good value, and could find no real problems with the product, it's hard for me to give it 5 Stars - hard to give much of anything five stars. I like, and that is that. One thing to know, as of this writing, these receptacles do not meet code and could not be used in a project that will be inspected. Receptacles now must be the anti-tamper kind, and these are not, They are good receptacles, but because of safety (kids sticking things in sockets), new receptacles must have anti-tamper features. I used these in a workshop where no kids will be, so I feel safe with their use there.

Good value

I was unaware that there are 'new style' outlets which only require a click for installation. These are not that new style. You must use pliers to bend the wires around the screws upon installing. With that said, they are cheap and good quality- definitely worth the extra few minutes for installation.
