Worked out great for me

Ended up welding mine. I put the rails in the bed first, then bolted (loosely) to the brackets. Then welded the brackets to the frame. Pretty simple, just getting up and down from under a truck in your driveway is not my idea of fun.. could probably be done in 2 hours or less if your not super detailed. Took me 3-3.5 hours. Trailer shop near me wanted to charge $700. I'm sure 2 guys at that should could do it in 60-90 minutes easy.. I could do it in 2 hours or less the 2nd Time.. unless you have a physical disability that prohibits you, then you should easily be able to do this yourself. If you are intelligent enough to tow a trailer and set up a fifth wheel in an RV park, then you can do this. Your personal physicality is going to be the only hindrance.

If you’re looking for an affordable railing system, this one is definitely at it comes with heavy duty hardware you would need . On my 2006 Duramax with an 8 foot bed we definitely needed to drop the tank just slightly AND install the bolts that were NOT included into the frame . The reason we had to get longer bolts was because we went through the hallow frame and had to drill to holes. Not a big deal . Four longer bolts cost me $6 but definitely for my 2006 duramax we needed that . Not a huge deal but definitely letting guys know . You need a 1/2 solid drill bit to make it easy and a jack and two bolts to lower the tank . Instructions can be better but the book they give you comes with universal to alot of truck so you have to read carefully . So still 5 star product just 4 stars for install only on my 2006 Chevy

I purchased the universal rail kit and wow its not easy. First of all the directions suck. I say this as the diagram on the main page shows how it all goes together but there are specific pages for certain trucks. The closest I could find in there for a 99 3500 Chevy long bed crew cab was the 88-98 instruction sheet for a 1500-2500. Which also requires different measurements length wise from the tail gate than the main page. Its cryptic at best. And make sure you set aside like an entire day to do it. On my install there is no room for any long throw of wrenches or sockets. The tire is in the way the spare tire is in the way as well. There are these C shaped spacers you need to use where the rails only go through the bed as well. You have to have a 17/32 drill bit to any larger and the special bolts will not grip, Any smaller you destroy your threads if not careful. I am day one in the install and well we hit an install wall so we are starting with day 2 tomorrow. The kit is robust and very very strong. The box alone with all the parts is more than 60lbs in weight. That's the good. Its also powder coated very well. All the parts are there but sadly no extra washers or nuts like most kits will give you. Im not faulting the kit and its contents I'm faulting the instructions and how tough my truck is steel wise to drill into. Took out 4 cordless drills today. Sapped the battery's quickly. So be prepared and be ready for the unexpected. Just really be spot on the distance your 5th wheel is at least 52" from the back of the bed of truck. This is for a long bed. If you dont get this right you might smack your cab with the trailer when at a 90 degree angle which is required for some tricky campsites.

I put this in my 1999 f350 and it worked great it was a little more challenging to install then I thought but not too bad. The instructions are not great but a couple YouTube videos helped me out and it was pretty simple

I purchased this product along with a Curt Manufacturing 16055 Rail Mounted Gooseneck Hitch and I love it. I recieved the item as promised by Amazon. It is much heavier than expected. Prior to installation I noticed that the box was slightly damaged. It is much heavier than I expected. So I opened the box and looked at the instructions. I noticed that I only recieved 3 of the 4 brackets needed for installation, so I waited till Monday morning and called the customer service number that is located on the instructions. I spoke to a technical support representative and he advised me to email him a copy of the amazon invoice and I did. A few days later I recieved a box from Fedex and opened it up and to my surprise they sent me all 4 of the brackets so now I have some extras.Installation was straightforward. All you need is a drill, with the proper bits, tape measure, and a socket set with 3/4" deep socket, and a torque wrench. The hardest part was getting the plastic bed liner and tool box out of my truck by myself. The entire project took me about 3 and that was taking my time.FYI As stated in another review the gooseneck hitch I purchased includes the 4 pins that are needed. All you need is the rail kit and hitch.

Great product well worth the money. Everything went smoothly no problems whatsoever putting it on.
