Steel precision tape measure that sticks to almost any surface. Lies flat, cuts to size with scissors. Useful on a work bench, butcher block, drafting table, radial arm saw.. Whenever repetitive measurements are required.

Dead-on accurate, sticks really well
I got this to replace the inaccurate measuring strip on a new (to me - I bought it used) rip fence/rails for my older table saw. The strip laid down by the rail manufacturer was progressively inaccurate so by 12" it was over 1/8" longer than the actual measure. Before mounting this, because of prior review comments I laid it out alongside a known-accurate tape measure to check. I found it to be exact. Then I fastened it to the rail with the adhesive backing, and took two other tape measures and compared again (see images). You can see from them that at 30", this Starrett tape exactly equals both of the tape measures.I found I could pull the tape back up immediately after setting it down, to reposition more accurately (I let it wander off an absolutely straight line). It stuck back down just fine. Generally adhesives like this take a bit of time to best adhere, so there is a tiny bit of work time - but you don't want to do it more than once or twice.I cut the tape using tin snips - it seemed a bit thick to use a pair of household scissors. It provides 1/32" divisions to 12", then 1/16" the rest of the tape. The tape makes it easy to see smaller divisions with longer lines at 1", ½", ¼", and ⅛" divides. The metric scale is divided by millimeters throughout the tape.A great value that will allow me to measure rip widths accurately without having to use a separate tape measure, which will make me more efficient as I work.

Not good when accuracy counts
I bought this Starrett Adhesive tape measure to replace the tape on my table saw. After making a few cuts, here was a difference in my readings. I then compared with three differ tape measures (different brands). The tape measures were all the same readings, but the Starrett measure was 1/32 off in three feet. Not good when accuracy counts. Wasted my money and time here. Need to find an accurate one. Maybe it was a bad batch.Did some more checking. Seems the measure is good to about 11” then it looses to about 16”. Now that throws everything off going from there. There is a shrinkage between roughly 11-16”. The measurements are good after that, but if going from zero, then your reading a 1/32 more

Not a True Starrett Product.
Package clearly reads made in China. This is not made by Starrett, nor in Starrett's facilities, thus it is not manufactured to Starrett's standards and is not up to their usual precision quality.

Fit Perfect on a Unisaw
I have the newest generation of Delta Unisaw Table Saw. On the rail there is a recess for a 3/4" wide tape. We need to move the rail hence reposition the tape.We purchased the Starrett left to right tape to replace the original tape. After cleaning the rail with a razor and alcohol we peeled the tape off the back of the Starrett tape and starting from one end peeled and pressed the tape in place. The tape is a thin metal and easily held its shape and made it very easy to press in place. The entire length pressed down smooth without any bumps. Were are very very pleased with the result. I also thought the price at about $7 was a very good value especially for the quality of the tape.

Dont waste your money
I tell you.. I am dissmayed at companies that sell stick on tape measures that are not accurate!! I used this on my powermatic 5 hp 3 phase table saw with Biesemeyer fence system. if I get the thing callibrated perfect at 24" it is almost 1/16" off when I go down to say 6" or up to 36" Its not the fence or operator error. I hate measuring the fence each time I make a new cut!!! why even bother with the tape on the fence if you have to right!?

Never used anything like it.
I picked one of these up since I finally found a spot for one. Amazon has constantly put these in my search results... or at least they did prior to this whole sponsored only situation that we are in now.I have a 48 inch work bench with a metal shelf that allows placement.I obviously needed to cut this down so I got to experiment a little. I found you need to cut at least 1/2 inch longer than where you want to cut it to start out. This will allow for you to check the quality of your cutting device first and then round the corners. I found that if you do not do this and use a scissors it will roll up on corner and crate a snag point. While in my workshop, short of a little safety, it's not a big deal but if you were going to use it on a sewing table or something similar. Its probably a big deal. The adhesive holds great. The material is rigid and when I placed it on the shelf I got close to the rounded edge of the shelf. The material stayed strait at the shelf bend. It does not effect anything for me but it is a sign of the rigidity once mounted.Take your time putting this in and it should last a long time. For those of you whom are not practiced putting on long graphics or straps of double sided tape. Research the best way to do this and you will be happy with the long run.I took a 13 inch scrap of this and mounted it on the metal bench leg near my vise to do a quick measurement of anything I will need to cut a little off of at the vise when I cannot find any other measuring tool. Its pretty good stuff, I did not attatch it to MDF, since not much sticks to that in the first place.

Reasonable for the price
Bought item to replace a tape on my sawstop cabinet saw that somehow got scratched. A lot cheaper than the original. It drifts abit when I compared to the original tape by around 1/64” as you go along the length. Could be me pulling the tape too taut during install. That’s acceptable for me as I only work with wood down to 1/32” or 1mm. Keep in mind once it’s on, there’s no going back. Recommend cutting a small 1/4” section at the 4” marker and line it up. Once you’re happy with the position, peel the rest and keep a light tension.

Learn how to put it on correctly before you open it
I put this on my General 650 cabinet saw and it's a great tape, but only if you install it right. You can't just slap this thing on. You get one chanceAskwoodman has a perfect video on YouTube showing how to do it right.

Great Shop Addition
I don't know how I worked in my shop for so many years without this measuring tool. It is so handy for quick measurements, no longer "looking" for the tape measure which always seems to be somewhere but not with me(lol). Good quality metal tape.

Wrong tape length in the package
I bought this to put on my boat. It sticks very well, but there is something wrong. On the package it was definitely showing 6' number SM66ME but when I open it it was only 4 feet long. Not a major problem for me because it's to measure fish but beware that you can receive a 4 feet long tape in a 6 feet long package.
