SHARPENING To re-sharpen your knife, use a whetstone at an angle of 15°– 20°. This will result in a cutting angle of 30°– 40°. If sharpening on a grinding wheel, always cool with plenty of water to avoid excessive temperatures and the resulting damages that may occur. CLEANING If the blades of knife begin to stick together, open and close the blades in warm water several times - this will allow the tools to move easily again. Once dry, apply a drop of Swiss Army Knife Oil between each tool and its spring. Do not put Swiss Army Knives in the dishwasher. HISTORY & HERITAGE In 1884, Master Cutler Karl Elsener opened a cutlery shop in Ibach, Switzerland. There, he and his cutlers’ union produced the finest steel cutlery, finished with the now-famous proprietary edge preferred globally by professionals and home cooks. Karl supplied the Swiss Army with its standard issue Soldier’s Knife and Officer’s Knife. After the death of his mother, and with the advent of stainless steel, Karl changed the name of the company to Victorinox. It is from those humble beginnings that a worldwide icon was born. Today, Victorinox is still owned and operated by the Elsener family, and both the company and family still resides in the small village of Ibach, Switzerland.

Victorinox Swiss Army Classic SD Pocket Knife
This little multi-tool from Victorinox is great! It has the bear essential tools I use most often in my everyday tasks, and the best part (at least for me) is it fits in my pocket and is so light and compact that I hardly notice it’s there. An awesome pocket sized tool!

Victorinox Mt. Rainier Swiss Army Classic Knife
I purchased this, "Victorinox Mt. Rainier Swiss Army," knife as a keepsake since I was on top of Mt. Rainier when I went to the, "National Parks," class that is offered by the Geology dept. at Portland State University.... so it is quite a momento of this trip to me. And as usual, this knife truly has held up superbly as all other, "Victorinox Swiss Army," knives that I have ever owned which is quite a few over many years. In this one's case, I have owned it for three years now, and I keep it tucked deep in my wallet...so I always have it at hand. You simply can't go wrong with this one! And the picture on it truly resembles this famous Western U. S. National Park mountain in likeness!!! Superb Overall!!!

Best knife in the world! If you have one you’ll never leave home without it!
I very much like my Classic Swiss Army Knife. I collect them and give them away as gifts. I use mine several times a day. Just the other day l took a splinter out of a very pretty friends hand. She loves her black Swiss Army Knife I gave her. Pink is a nice gift, so is white yellow red green blue and beautiful monogrammed knives too. I tell people not to attach it to anything as to obstruct its use and think of it as it’s only the size of carrying s nickel in your pocket. I also tell the lucky recipient if they loose it at TSA I will give them a new one.

Handy tool
Quality is there and so it its usefulness. The scissors are surprisingly good at cutting things that its probably not meant to cut but it works well.

Useful excellence
My uncle, who lived in Switzerland, gave me an original version of this small pocket knife in 1983. It still on my keychain...a bit battered and scarred but still very much used. I bought this for a Xmas exchange gift because I find mine to be so helpful. Now I am getting one for myself ...
