It is porter cable quality and it is a beast
The media could not be loaded. These lugs were put on my a oil change place. They always over torque them. As you can see. Worked great. There were a couple reviews that made me cautious about buying this one."This isn't a porter cable of old"Yes it is. This tool is a well made beast.took off two lugs almost instantly with no air needed"Not powerful" yeah once again I've used others that were weak like battery ones that give the rating in foot inches. Lol this one works perfect."The tool is too heavy". Yeah I kinda feel like that is a good thing. Air tools are light because they have no motor. This has a motor and it is 7.5 horse and strong. I mean. I think it should be heavy and it is.Well made heavy metal case I love not buying Chinese knock off tools. I've learned in the first 50 years of my life cheap Chinese knock offs are horrible. Even if this thing is made in China. It works well. Feels good in the hand and works.I'll add this name to names of tools I'll buy in the future. It wasn't cheap but it wasn't overly expensive either. This is perfect for the shade tree mechanic like me to help me with jobs I don't want to do, but do because my tools make the work a lot easier. Porter Cable to me is quality.

Must have tool for water heater rod removal
I tried to remove the sacrificial rod from our gas water heater with a 1/2" x 1-1/16" socket and a 1/2" breaker bar but when the water heater began to move from where it was perched on top of some bricks, I knew that it was time to try something else. I didn't want to risk a gas leak when the water heater started to move. That's when I read some reviews about impact wrenches and hammer drills. The consensus was that the right tool to use was an impact wrench since the two tools work in very different ways. I saw this reasonably priced 1/2" x 7.5 Amp impact wrench made by Porter Cable, and ordered it on the basis of other reviews. It was a great decision. There is nothing inexpensive about its construction. It is a substantial, quite heavy, shop tool that should last for a very long time. When I applied it to the frozen water heater rod, the rod began to turn in less than 1 second - lightning fast. Our water heater was only in use for 18 mos. and that probably explains why the rod turned so easily. We replaced the rod with an active anode rod also available from Amazon and made by Corro-Protec. This impact wrench will also be useful for removing lug nuts and frozen bolts.

Beefy Quality, Got to Me in One Day !
My Porter Cable impact wrench came in ONE DAY from CPO, that is impressive ! I did a lot of research on air wrenches vs electric impact wrenches and I decided I didn't want to mass with the hoses, and oil and such. I was buying this tool for one bolt, that's all. The Porter Cable took it off in 2 seconds, maybe 2 1/2. Without it I would have likely messed around with that bolt holding a fly wheel covering the front crankshaft seal on my 2000 Saab 9-5 with a breaker bar and a pipe and a helper . . . An impact wrench was recommended for removal and installation. No complaints ! Worked perfectly. The wrench weighs 8 pounds, really beefy and is big - 12" long (add a couple 3 inches for the socket), 8" down the handle, so not for tight spaces. You need to go small air wrench for that. If you are smaller you can use two hands. There was no torquing of my arm and only slight vibration transferred. Very high quality.I went against the advice of a buddy who told me, "There is no reason for guys our age to buy tools, someone has one you can borrow." In this case it would have been several hours of travel just to borrow one. I got this fast, the job is done, worth every penny. Now, what else can I used it for . . .

Hard to beat the convenience and long life of a plug in tool for the shade-tree mechanic.
I do my own tire rotations and brake work on my vehicles. I recently bought a used vehicle that had a stripped wheel stud that I found when performing routine service. It had to be replaced. Under normal circumstances, my little pancake compressor is marginally capable of fueling my air impact wrench. For the stud work, it was very inadequate. So, I started looking at larger compressors and battery powered impacts. In the end, I settled on this tool as suiting my needs. Spared the expense/floor space of a large compressor and the chance of life/obsolescence issues with batteries. This tool is large, >12 inches, heavy (8lb); but it is powerful and convenient to use and store. I would prefer a direction switch over the rocker trigger. Be aware that it has no torque control settings and it has a lot of START/STOP fly-wheeling. I would be very cautious driving anything smaller than a lug nut or similar with it without some meaningful practice. I do like air tools. But, for the money, this tool works just fine on lugs and other large attachments and sits quietly on the shelf until I need it again. No fuss, no muss.

Nut Buster!
I used this to remove the wheel lug nuts, front hub adapter, and front brake caliper bracket mounting bolts on a 2014 Ram 3500 dually. The brake caliper bracket mounting bolts are torqued at the factory to 260 foot pounds. This tool zipped them right out with only a second of hesitation. It simply laughed at the lug nuts and hub adapter bolts, which are torqued to about 128 foot pounds. Great tool! A bargain. Saves a lot of wrench turning and wear on the body.

Excellent tool. Removed 6 wheels off a 28' camper without fail. Nice feel, comfortable in hand. Great tool for the money.
