Great game
I play a lot of board games with friends, Catan, viticulture, Stone Age,castles of burgundy, etc. they are all great games. In my opinion this is the most interesting and challenging board game I have ever played. The thought in creation is astounding. Takes a while to learn and even longer to master, but very challenging and great replay ability.

Very complex, but rewarding game!
This is a wonderful civilization game, but without a map. It is a very complex game to learn to play, and is also a very strategic game (there are many different routes to success, although none are easy/without struggles). This game takes at least 2 hours to play. Even with all of the complexity, choices, and decisions to make, playing this game is extremely rewarding! I highly recommend this game. Didn't live up to the hype
It's good, but not how people talk about it. I love strategy games, but if I want a civilization game I have plenty of others to go to that keep my time. Overall not a bad game at all.

Wonderful, complex game.
Great game! Heavy and complex, but worth the time to learn to play. There is also a great electronic version that has a tutorial.

Board game designers should understand that when a game become so difficult to learn it takes the fun out of it. Unfortunately, this is one of those.

One of our favourites
This game is complex, challenging, headache inducing, and can take the better part of a day to play, but it is probably our favourite board game. Started playing with my son when he was 10 and we’ve had some epic games… all very different. Throughout the game the “right” move is never self evident because it doesn’t really exist… it’s about determining what sacrifices to make as you develop your civilization, and respond to your opponent(s) moves, as you’ll never be able to do everything you want. Can make for some painful moments, but ultimately an incredibly rewarding experience.

Amazing game,I love it!
This game is amazing.I bought it based on reviews and I love it.It is a game for advanced players.It is a complex game and it takes many hours to play it. The first time we played all day.It takes now several hours,but it is very interesting game and we play every week end.I highly reccomend it!
