Beautiful and feel wonderful!

I LOVE satin anything. Satin jammas, comforter, sheets, whatever. I always have. Having a king sized bed, it was really nice to be able to find affordable satin sheets that fit.My responses to the most common complaints:1- Of course they slide! They're satin! I previously had silk, and initially had the same problems with my silk set, until it had been washed many times. Try putting the satin sides of the sheets facing each other, and tucking the bottom half of the top sheet in really well. That will help keep the comforter from sliding off, and you get the added benefit of satin touching your skin in both directions! I am lucky in that I don't have to worry about the pillows sliding off too much, as the head of my bed is in an alcove, and my husband and I have used separate sheets and blankets from day one - we both are blanket hogs.2- Yes, they will snag and pile if you have rough hands or feet. So will silk, at least the prior silk sheets I had did. I also have restless legs, and managed to wear holes in both my silk and flannel sheets, so I figure I'm going to have to replace my sheets pretty often anyway.3- They can be hot, or cool, depending on how much heat you put out. They're synthetic, as most satin is nowadays. I don't know why, but I've noticed that some synthetic fabrics are either too hot or too cold for different people depending on how they handle hot and cold.4- Wash them before you use them. I got the black, gold, red, and burgundy sets, washed them in cold with Woolite and fabric softener, and haven't seen any staining. The colors are nice and vivid, which is great since my bedroom is burgundy and gold, and the contrast is very pleasing when you mix and match the color sets (i.e. gold comforter set with burgundy sheet set). So, a few tips to make sure they are worth it - wash first and treat them like they're delicate (this will soften them up too), put satin-side to satin-side on the sheets, wear socks/gloves or make sure your feet/hands are smooth (or accept that you are going to tear up the sheets eventually), and realize that synthetic materials do not handle body heat like cotton before you decide to buy them.Personally, I've used these (well, the top sheet, the pillow cases, and the comforter) for a couple of weeks now, and it's already worth the price of the full sheet set to me. (I'm thinking about getting more sets to make nightgowns out of, as the sheets are cheaper than the fabric would be). The colors are wonderful, they feel wonderful on my skin, and I love the way the fabric moves like water.

Pleasantly Surprised!

I have a thick mattress [about 10"] and these sheets actually have deep enough pockets to fit, with a little room to spare! They are absolutely gorgeous.I had never slept on satin sheets and it took a little while to get used to it, but now I adore them and so does my Cat.The pillows do slide around, but I have had no problem with the sheets sliding.I purchased these quite a while ago, but just started using them, so I haven't washed them yet. If they still look, feel and fit well after washing, I'll definitely be buying more!Update: After washing, these are still beautiful. I wasn't aware that my dryer wasn't working properly so I accidentally dried these on high heat. But they didn't shrink, or if they did, it wasn't enough to make them too small for my thick mattress.Unfortunately, when I was going to buy another set, the price had gone up a LOT. I got these for under $20. If the price ever goes down again, I"ll buy more. Much as I like these, I don't need sheets badly enough to pay what they cost at this time.

great looks, slippery, a little hot, a little big

I've always wanted satin sheets- but the husband was dead against it. So after much convincing, I got the gold sheets for the guest bedroom, which has a brown and beige comforter.Color- First off, the color is a little too rich- I should have gone with red or black- the gold is a lot more opulent than I'd expected, and really catches the eye. But it's not such a bad thing if other things in your room match its richness.Size- we have 10 and 13 inch mattresses, and the sheets fit them easily with more to spare. My gripe is that the bed never looks perfectly made- the sheets are a little big and too slippery to stay in, and every morning they need to be tucked in, and even then they don't fit tightly.Feel- It feels heavenly! And it doesn't look or feel cheap. Satin is very romantic, of course, but it is very slippery. It took me a whole week to get used to it (of course, when it feels so heavenly, it ended up finally in the master bedroom!). Husband complained for a week, and then gave up. Now I think he secretly likes it! :P But we do use cotton pillow cases- there is no way satin pillowcases stay in one place on satin sheets! Not being cotton, it does get a little hot sometimes, like in the nights when we have the heater on, my back kinds burns even when it's not so hot in the room. So for summer, it's back to cotton sheets for me.The sheets did not shrink with one wash, but their durability remains to be seen.
