How can you live without this device ?
Nokia 630I am a pensioner. This is my first ever Smartphone and it took me about a week to start to get the hang of it. First day cost £8 in PAYG and all it did was update itself. Then I learned to switch off PAYG data and use my home WiFi or any free Hot Spo,t so the next day of heavy use and phone calls only cost 60p.Plus points: ( so many) My phone is ready to use in circa 25 seconds from cold switch on and almost instantly from sleep, with emails, text and other notifications almost instantly, while my desktop PC is still in the starting blocks. The querty keyboard takes your brain a day or more to adapt to but then excellent. The maps are INCREDIBLE and free and cover the entire planet and every hot spot and you can choose satellite view. If you get lost this phone will tell you where you are with one button push. The free sat nav, called "HERE drive+, is totally comprehensive and uses no data at all and if you still take the wrong turning it gets you back on track so I have ordered a car mount. The camera takes a very crisp photo but I have not yet learned how to file properly. The phone charges from scratch in only 20 minutes and the battery seems to last very well indeed even on Sat Nav. Today I had the phone on all day(without charger) and used it and data a bit and also did 60 miles with the Sat Nav and the battery still shows 2/3 full. The battery, SIM and memory are easily replaceable. The phone is slender but sturdy. The screen is very clear and bright for photos and text. You can easily connect to your pc and can transfer files and use it to back up and vici versa. The value for money at under £70 is unbelievable, compare it to a tank or two of petrol.Cons: The on button at the side is too easy to turn on accidentally. It is difficult to use the phone as a beginner to this type of device as there are many meaningless icons and sometimes pin prick dots which have to be learned and used. I know many people only use the phone function (what a waste). The instruction book is the smallest I have ever seen but maybe I accidentally erased one in the phone? The internet was a life saver for me.No case or usb lead supplied and rather a small memory card. These need ordering with the phone and a sleeve type case will protect the sensitive on off button.. . . . . . . . .Summery: I have a lot more things to try like the built in Word and Excel and I may give an update after a few months. Once you get the hang of it, you won't be able to live without this device. Highly recommended. Buy this before you waste a fortune on something not as good.

Good but not excellent.
Having just broke my previous phone, a Moto G 1st gen Sim free smartphone I needed a quick and cheap replacement. Having read numerous reviews about windows phones, I decided to go for this one at a relatively cheap price.First of all the speed of this phone is unreal for the price. My previous phone was quite slow sometimes, often lagging or freezing as i interchanged between each app. This phone performs expertly when changing between each app. The experience is very smooth.Another great feature of this phone is cortana and the voice recognition on this is different class. I am from the Isle of Lewis, I have a very strong scottish accent which means a lot of people not from where I live, do not understand me. However cortana seems to understand every word I speak to her. This function was brilliant, as in my previous phone certain words I say were pronounced differently.Mix radio is also brilliant. The amount of songs and different mixes you can listen to is excellent. Whether you boogie to some 80s classics, or lose your nut to some dance floorfillers, it's great. Now you're probably wondering why I speak so excellently about this phone but yet I have only given it 4 stars. Well here I am about to explain.First of all the sound is not the greatest, although I wasn't expecting much, there seemed to be an absence of bass when listening to music. Who knows? Maybe I have messed around with the controls. I'm not sure how to change it back. And that brings me onto my next point, learning the functions of this phone is a lot more complicated, especially if you are a newcomer to windows phone. In the box there was some start up instructions but nothing actually about the functions of the phone. Hey I could just look it up online. But I'm one of those stubborn men who like a set of instructions in front of me to read.Next of all there's no front facing camera. This would be a bit disappointing if I wasn't a real man, but real men don't take selfies, so alas this does not bother me so much. It is worth a mention though, as other users may want a front facing camera.Last but not least, apps. The apps you get on this phone are somewhat limited, but not as bad as people say it is. One thing I was disappointed about was the absence of snapchat. For many people including myself, snapchat is a major tool these days for keeping in touch with people. Hey you could use what's app or facebook or many other tools. But I personally liked snapchat the most.I think 4 stars out of 5 is well justified for this phone.
