The Metz backpack is the most popular in the Cabin Max collection. The classic exterior designs come in over 25 different colours and patterns, so we are confident that you will find one to suit your style and personality. Measuring only 55 x 40 x 20 cm, the Metz backpack is the perfect size for hand luggage restrictions of the most popular cheap airline - such as Easyjet, Ryanair and Monarch to name just a few. The ultra-weight of only 660 grams means that you pack your hand luggage to the max and not yet to pay and the additional costs for luggage.

Very poor quality, matched by poor seller after-sales care
We bought 5 of these for our family just before Christmas - just over 1 month ago. The first one, my son's, fell apart on the first flight and was returned. Two more have since fallen apart on a second flight. Each failure is due to stitching coming apart - each in different places. Because just over 30 days have elapsed, the seller is insisting we return them for inspection - fair enough - but they won't refund us - not good. These bags are flimsy and poorly constructed - the sort of quality you see as freebies at an exhibition. They flop over, even when loaded and padded out, they're uncomfortable on the shoulder and the zips are awkward to use and rough-running. The size is right for cabin luggage-only trips, but as I since discovered, there are far superior products designed for cabin restrictions on sale at Amazon for not much more expense. So decide for yourself - buy cheap, buy twice or do what I should have done in the first place and pay a bit more for the Osprey Farpoint/Fairview bags, which are £30 more, but far and above superior pieces of kit, backed by a fair and decent warranty if you ever need it.Thanks to Amazon for rescuing us and arranging a return/refund - that's why I do most of my shopping here.

Great capacity, but very poor quality
Although the capacity of this piece is impressive, the quality is lacking: I base that on not just the single purchase, but two. With the first, the stitching beneath the top handle gave way after some months, rendering the pocket separating the 2nd and 3rd compartments useless. Giving the product the benefit of my doubt, I bought a second. But this proved to be even less durable (I use only every few weeks), where the stitching gave way even more beneath the top handle, plus the zipper to the front compartment broke too, meaning the whole piece is now basically useless.

Exactly what we wanted!
This is exactly what we were looking for. The camo print is very cool. It's comfy to carry holds lots just what I needed. We just got back from our holiday and this bag was brilliant. I'm actually going to buy another one. It holds as much as a small suitcase, is easy to carry and didn't get any funny looks from the staff at airport.

Travelled 6 weeks on this bag and it was perfect for the job
Perfect size for fitting in to the cabin so long as you don't overfill it to the point that it's got big lumps etc sticking out as it'll be a pain to fit and if you're travelling on a budget airline they'll pick you out to have your luggage tested and you'll be hit with fees. The carrying straps are comfortable enough for travelling between airports and accommodation but I wouldn't recommend it for hiking etc.The space is good with 3 pockets: the large main pocket, a smaller pocket with webbing and pockets for keeping smaller items (phones, chargers, papers, currency etc) and a thin pocket on the front ideal for A5 size papers/books (or folded A4). The main pocket has long zips which almost allow you to open this bag out like a traditional suitcase. Rather than having to stand it up while packing as it the case with most backpack-type bags I'd lay this on it's back to fill it due to how well the main pocket opens. The bag is much lighter than similar sized bags. The issue I had when travelling with this was more with the weight of the luggage I was putting in this bag rather than with the size. I had to leave space in the bag as I only had a 7KG allowance but could easily have fit 10-12KG in to the bag.Really happy with this purchase.

One bag to rule them all
This bag is quiet possibly the answer to all questions related to carry-on bags and airlines. So far I have taken this on long haul and short haul flights without any issues. The amount is things you can pack in is only really limited by your packing skills. The width of the straps spread the load well and really assist in reducing stress on your shoulders, I was able to carry well over the carryon weight and it looked like I was carrying a normal backpack.I would totally recommend this bag for travel, even just for long car journeys, it’s really that good.

Travel-friendly (i.e. accepted as carry-on baggage by airlines0
I fly a lot with low cost airlines, mostly in Europe. I have used this backpack flying with Ryanair, Easyjet, Norwegian, BA TUI, and have so far not ever been denied at the gate for exceeding the dimension restrictions for carry-on baggage. I bought this backpack specifically to be able to carry onboard the maximum allowed by even the stingiest airlines. Very satisfied so far! What prevents this from being a 5-star product is that the material feels very flimsy. In case of rain I doubt the content would stay very dry. And I also find it very annoying that the different compartments do not hold any form of sturdy position if the zipper is pulled all the way down. They sort of just collapse under their own weight, there's no stitches to keep them up. So in case you forget to pull the zipper up and lift the backpack, the compartment will fly open and the content will fall out. But as long as you keep this in mind the backpack is completely functional. At this price point I 100% recommend this backpack.

Great value hang luggage suitable for most major airlines
I really wasn't sure what to expect in terms of size as it's sometimes difficult to visualise these things, especially as this is a soft bag rather than hard-shell. However, I was easily able to fit enough clothes and accessories in there for a 3 night stay with room to spare. The bag was well within the Easyjet cabin allowance. I suspect with some careful planning I could easily pack for at least 5 nights with this bag, maybe 7 at a push. The soft, rather than hard-shell, exterior allows for a little more flexibility with packing and comes with external clips to squash everything back within limits. There is a well thought out external section with inner zips, liners and pockets. While the overall bag (including zips) seems pretty robust, I am less convinced about the internal pockets which I suspect may tear with regular use. Padded shoulder straps made it comfortable to carry and easy to sling over one should or wear as a rucksack. I was a little niggled that no luggage label was included but other than that, no complaints. Are there better bags out there? Probably... but not at this price. Great value.
