This was as expected, both chunky heavy duty, and with free draining design to allow grass to grow through. As soon as spring comes I intend filling the insets that have a hole in base with soil and grass seed, and know this will be possible due to its design. It was easy to cut with a craft knife, and arrived tightly rolled and thus was easy to carry and fit through doorways. It is heavy so if you are not that strong it would be worth getting some help getting the parcel indoors and to where needed. The amount of rubber is generous, really deep and it is non slip when walked on even when wearing muddy boots. I am really satisfied with this mat and highly recommend it and the company who delivered quickly.

Very impressed with these mats so far. At first when I laid them I was slightly concerned as they were very obvious and a bit unsightly with no grass through yet, but after only a couple of weeks you can see from the photo how they are looking. I’m sure they will be even more embedded as time goes on.Nice and comfy for the kids to land on rather than our rock hard and quite dry turf and mud. I will probably buy another to go under the ladder at the back of their climbing frame.One small point - my initial order seemed to get lost after dispatch and with no updates about a week after order, I contacted the company who apologised and sent out my order again which then arrived promptly.

This is my second purchase as it is that good. Before I bought for an outside gym and now for my garden furniture. At first it does not look great but as your grass grows it is fantastic and does what I bought it for. When it is time to place the garden furniture away for winter I will use the mats for those slippery parts of my concerts. I will save a few for when the snow comes for a nice safe pathway. So in all they do not advertise these uses but put your mind to it and they can have other uses in winter. Very robust and easy to use. Hope this helps and like you I looked at the others and thought the thicker the better. If they could do different colours their uses could massively increase.

The mesh under the rubber chippings was getting kicked up every time our daughter used her swing, this mat has solved that problem.Good size but If you have more than one swing you’d need one for each. I recommend getting some more pegs if the ground is uneven like ours, because the 4 that come with it are not enough to keep the mat flat. A few more hammered in around the edge and it’s perfect.We’ve had it a few weeks now and the area still looks as good as the first day we laid it!

We bought to go intially on old concrete to put play equipment on and make it a bit safer, once down they don't seem to move around and they butted together nicely. They will eventually go on the grass when we move the equipment which is why I went for the sort that grass will grow through. So far all good. Only down side is colour I would have liked green but as they appear to be recycled tyre I suspect that isn't possible, and recyled material is better than a pretty colour.

Sturdy string and does exactly what I wanted. I’ve used it under the childrens climbing frame/ swing and it’s done the trick. You can now hardly see it now the grass has grown through and my lawn mower goes over it no problems at all to keep it tidy. No more muddy patches under the swing … perfect!

Thick rubber mats hose down well hard wearing value for money

It's a good mat but it's very small for what you pay for in my opinion. You would need atleast 5 of these to cover a good amount of area.
