Flanders Black Leather Journal (Diary, Notebook) Diary – 1 July 2011

I've always loved the Peter Pauper notebooks, but sometimes the hard cover can be a little bit restrictive. This 'leather' version is an ideal compromise. The paper is great for us fountain pens users, with zero bleed through, and the flexible cover has a nice floppy feel. Is it perfect? No, but at this price, it is a great book! Highly recommend trying it.

I love love love these journals.They feel great and look expensive. The paper quality is fantastic and I have even used water colour in them and been able to use the back of the same page for writing. (it went a little wavy but that was it!)I have used these for a few years but have recently started bullet journaling and was tempted to other types of journals which have dotty paper. I am so disappointed! They just don't feel as good as this one does and the paper is poor quality.Peter Pauper Press - please make this with dotty paper! I use this notebook as a Mindfulness diary. It fits the purpose, very good quality outside and inside. Only down part is that it doesn't feel very personal. I think this would be ideal for a business notebook.

This is the third one that I have bought. An excellent journal with paper that I enjoy writing on with my fountain pen.

When it comes to notebooks, paper quality is something that I look out for, especially as I write with fountain pens. Other brands like Moleskine use thinner paper which tends to be cause the ink to bleed through the paper. The paper used in the Flanders journal is superior, and has the right thickness to avoid any bleeding. At the same time, it is not too thick, and manages to fit 192 pages to a slim profile without being bulky.

i was really pleased with the journal the quality is suburb and i find it is easy to carry around with me on my day to day travels. it allows me to keep a more accurate account of things as i am recovering fom a recent heart opperation and at the moment tend to forget things

Bought this as I wanted to start a journal of my thoughts, great quality lined paper and the leather is pretty sturdy too. I like the gold finish on the edges of the paper to give it that premium feel.

This journal arrived when it said it would and when i opened it up and looked at the product it was in very good quality and there were no faults with it,I'm happy i brought this journal and would recommend to anyone who likes writing ect.

This journal has a good quality leather cover that’s beautifully finished. The pages are made from good quality cream colored paper and the pages have a sewn rather than glued binding and are secure. When open it lies flat for ease of writing. The size is ideal for me. Not too small and not too big. It’s sized right to put into a carry all or purse. It’s a great price and I will definitely buy another one. I highly recommend it.

I just ordered my second Flanders Black Leather Journal from Amazon and I was extremely pleased with the last one. Compared to Italian-made, leather-covered lined journals which retail for close to $100 each, this journal is quite a bargain. The pages are thick so that no writing ever shows through the other side of the page. The pages lay perfectly flat and I have found the sewn binding stays intact and is quite durable, although other reviewers have faulted the binding’s durability. The lines are quite light and unobtrusive and they’re not too narrowly spaced to make my writing cramped or reading a chore. I have journaled for decades and used many kinds of lined journals, but this product is a real find, I think.

Excellent Journal. The lines are a bit broad, but the book is great quality, worth the VERY long wait for delivery!

These are my go-to daily note taking journal. I always have one on the go. Great quality and classic look.

This journal has thick pages with very light lines which allow you to write in a straight line, but which are light enough not to intrude on what is being written. They are also wide apart; comparing my Day-Timer with its 32 lines to this journal with only 22 lines per page, it is obvious that more can be written on the Day-Timer's pages. However, as I have gotten older, I find the wider lines easier to use. There has been no problem getting this journal to open flat for ease of writing. The binding has not been any problem for me either. Today's purchase of four (4) more journals will make the sixth through ninth I have purchased this year. I plan to continue purchasing this exact journal as long as it is available as I journal daily. This journal meets my needs better than other journals and is at a price which I find highly acceptable (compared to my Day-Timer journals).
