Q: What does it mean by natural? Does this mean it is better for the environment or a word to try get us to falsely believe it is sustainable?

Hi,Thank you for your inquiry.The term natural refers to the untouched finish of the cloth.It has not been chemically dyed, or treated.The fabric is 100% cotton, woven of natural yarn, and the colour is natural / ivory as opposed to white bleached.Muslin can be used to cook with or as a sieve for jams and sauces.Kind regards,Lynda.

Q: Can this fabric be used for hand embroidery?

It is possible I suppose. It does have a slightly open weave but its light, very soft & I don't think it would hold a thread without distorting (even in a frame). I bought to make one time use bouquet garni bags. It wasn't expensive so a metre wouldn't be a disastrous buy, as muslin has several uses. So you could try a metre & see?

This fine if you want to use it for anything that will not be on public display. I bought it for net curtaining but found many weaving faults. My fault for not checking its suitability. Otherwise a reasonable product.
