Q: weve bought this and it definitely does not purr.. it meows and also makes the sound of a cat cry as if we have stood on its tail.. is this right? or do I have a damage good? some people say it does purr.. most the time our Jess sounds very angry when stroked?

i thought it didnt purr until i discovered by mistake , after stroking it continuously on the back of the head it did start to purr.

Q: Battery compartment velcro on one side soft cloth on other won't stay together, should there be velcro both sides?

There should be one side thats more fuffy and the other thats rough as this is how velcro sticks together. The rough side consists of tiny hooks which lock on to the fluffier side. Check there isnt any fluff build up on the rough side, however if there isnt a velcro strip on each side i would contact the seller. Hope this helps.

It doesn't purr. It does meow but not sounding as though someone as stood on a cats tail!!

Q: Would this be an ok toy for a cat?

I wouldnt really recommend due to the battery compartment, wires etc.

Pudsey cat present 🎁

I sent this cat toy to my sister in law, she has always wanted a cat but my brother has Asthma and can't have the fur in the house. She loves the cat toy as it purrs and wags its pores. The purrfect gift for anyone who has a problem with real fur.

A firm favourite of my 2 year old

A firm favourite of my 2 year old. Beautiful, can sit down easily (doesn't topple over like some of the teddies), makes really cute sounds when stroked. Also, can be turned off, which is always a bonus for a parent;-) Highly recommend, and not only for Postman Pat fans!

Jess is purrrrrfect!

Jess - Postman Pat's black and white cat - has hardly been out of my 16-month-old granddaughter's arms since she unwrapped him on Christmas Day. Jess meows in response to a gentle stroke for just the right number of seconds to entrance the child but not irritate the adult. A purrrfect present for fans of Postman Pat.

This is a lovely toy which matches the appearance of Jess from the Postman Pat programmes very well. The blurb mentions purring but in fact Jess only miaows.
