This is a very good quality laptop stand that looks good and is well built. Adjustment is via one sliding lever. It is very sturdy but does flex a bit if you are heavy handed on the keyboard. I've always been skeptical about stands and stopped buying them a few years ago, but this one is "da bomb". I have a 15'' rMBP, and when placed on the stand it feels glued to a rock - the front rib has a strip of soft plastic that keeps the laptop from shifting, without scratching edges. The little plastic bumps in corners keep the laptop up enough to stay well-cooled, and the hole underneath further helps dissipating heat. I used to hear cooling fans running most of the time, because I have two external monitors; since I replaced my makeshift stand (a stack of large books) with this, that problem has gone. And of course, it keeps the laptop screen high enough to be much more ergonomic - if you look at the picture, that piece of paper on the right is an A4 folded sidewise; that's pretty high, for this sort of stands. The finish is high quality and matches modern Macs perfectly.One thing I would recommend is to place the laptop on the stand at the lowest setting (i.e. slider all the way to the left) then adjust it. The slider is very smooth to raise, but pretty bumpy and shaky to lower. If you need to lower, I'd recommend holding on the laptop with one hand just in case. Once in place, it holds perfectly.This is the best stand I've bought in a while. I wish they had a model with quiet extra fans, and then it would be perfect.

Great when using an external mouse and keyboard. I can position my MacBook to the perfect height for screen use. The added bonus is a far more flattering angle of the built-in webcam for video conferencing.If you’re doing a lot of screen work / working from home, I very much recommend this stand. Expensive, but think of it as saving the cost of a couple of physio appointments!

I imagine your are not typing on the computer when it is on the stand. If so it is absolutely brilliant. I read someone else who wrote it felt as the macbook is mounted on a rock and I agree.You just have to use a mouse and a keyboard, but that is essential in my head when using a laptop stand.

Before reading the Amazon reviews for this product, I researched laptop stands on the internet.The Rain Design iLevel 2 received very good reviews. The overall product is sturdily built and sleeklydesigned. However, the critical feature--the knob that allows one to adjust the incline of the stand--was completely defective. It could be easily slid from side-to-side but no matter where one stoppedthe knob, the stand support remained in the full upright position. The knob was so loose, sopoorly constructed, that ALL it did was slide back and forth. What a disappointment! (Perhaps this isa rare occurrence. Since the item is no longer available I was unable to request a replacement and see for myself.)

I WFH and I have to use separate laptops that share one large monitor. I have a laptop on either side, but the laptops are different makes and sizes. I have used several different stands over the years, but I had never found on satisfactory until I bought the Rain 12031, I can set the level precisely where i want it and the adjustment and readjustment consists of no more than moving a lever at the front of the stand. It is attractive and doesn't clutter. I highly recommend it.But I add a caution. You'll need an external keyboard. The stand is on a spring for adjustment purposes, so if you have to tap on the laptop key it is going to bounce.

I was skeptical when I first ordered this. It didn't look very sturdy in the pics, but I was wrong. It is very sleek looking and functional, with the adjustable height. Very modern looking as well and my MacBook Pro fits perfectly on it. Very glad to have purchased this for my home office.

The media could not be loaded.  After receiving my order on the 27th of February, 2024, I tested it and found it to be defective, matching the issues shown in the video. The gap around the button of the right end is significantly larger than the gaps at the left end. Yesterday morning, I reached out to the seller requesting a replacement or a refund, including the additional delivery fee I paid. However, they dismissed my request, claiming the defect is normal. Despite my insistence, I have yet to receive any further response from them.
