As a baseball umpire this is an excellent mask for protection against foul balls or pitches the catcher doesn't get a chance to put a glove on. Whole head protection and it can be worn all day. All Star even sells replacement pad kits, so this mask will last for years to come , unlike my Wilson mask that only lasted 4 years because the interior pads became frayed and Wilson does not offer a replacement pad setup and their pads are permanently glued in. You will not be disappointed by this mask.

I am a recently retired umpire with close to 15 years and more than 4,000 games. I know good equipment. I have used All-Star quite a bit and worked with alot of catchers that also use All-Star gear. Their cans are top notch. The padding easily comes out and is very durable and machine washable. Not to mention very comfortable.I have a MVP3000 that I paid close to $300 for almost 10 years ago. I have used it in... Well most likely over 2,000 games (I lost count) and it still has plenty of life left.I can tell you this mask is just as good if not better.Complete confidence in this for my son and money well spent. Actually very affordable. Nice job All-Star!! This is a great can.There are more expensive models however the hollow tubing they use for the cage is not very durable if you play alot of ball. This cage is great and solid yet not heavy.The mask is also very well balanced.The ONLY thing I would suggest if you plan on playing a lot is take out each screw and put blue lock-tite on the threads. This will save you from losing screws when you toss the mask off. The vibrations from repeated tossing will cause the screws to gradually back out. The blue thread lock will prevent this and keep your can solid and safe for years.

This is a big improvement from catchers masks in the past. The flat face mask bars allow better vision then your typical round bars. Helmet is comfortable and adjustments are simple. Highly recommend

My daughter sees much better out of this catcher’s helmet than her previous one. This one has more open slots for peripheral vision. It was little expensive but made a difference in her ability to see and find the ball from wild pitches. Good for baseball too. Due to the price, I wouldn’t get this helmet for kids who are just starting to play. Mine have been playing for a combined 11 years.

Great top of the line sturdy and protective helmet. My son loves the product. The only thing he does not love is that he thinks the helmet is a little heavy. If your looking for a light helmet, this is probably not for you.

My son reports that it's extremely comfortable, and he loves that he can now play a game without the locker room odor of his previous mask. Thanks largely to the removable and replaceable pads. As a parent I love that when people start throwing rock hard balls at him during a game, I don't have to worry about dental bills. Great helmet for the money, highly recommended for all agree levels.

Great helmet, exactly what you would expect from the company. I would rather the face guard was painted with not-reflective paint but not a big problem. Protects the head very well!
