Q: Can the laundry bags be removed to wash?

Bags can be picked up at any time and carried on their own. The handles easily slip out so the bag can be washed.

It does lock down and you are correct-it is the little plastic part with the lever that is the locking mechanism. The lock is a bit stiff, however, I did find by accident when assembling that there is an "up" and a "down" - you might try inverting the black plastic parts and see if that doesn't make a difference in your ability to engage the lock. They are a very nice size... Laundry bag dimensions: 15.75-inch w x 8.66-inch d x 23.62-inch hWorks well for me.

Q: What are the dimensions wheel to wheel at the narrow end? Is it exactly 18"? I have a spot that I have to fit it into, and it can't be too wide.

The wheel to wheel dimension is 18" but there is a slight overhang of about an additional 1/4" due to the wheel mounts. We also fit it into a very narrow laundry room, but have found it very useful, since pre-sorting the laundry in the three bags saves a lot of time. Ours has a cloth top rather than a hanging bar, but I assume that the storage part is the same size as the hanging bar model.

Fantastic fix if you have the space

Instead of having laundry hampers in every room, we now designate our dirty clothes into this elegant solution. Additionally, we can hang damp clothes out to dry on hangers. It's a handy contraption with multiple uses that can easily be wheeled around from room to room.

Great but missing a crucial part

Great product but missing one of the small spacer parts (part k). Amazon only seems to want me to ship the whole thing back rather than communicate directly and request the missing part.

This is a great way to store and sort my ironing. It’s sturdy and easy to move around and it fits in my cupboard out of the way. Any time I want to iron i wheel it out or I simply take one of the bags and iron the contents.
