A lot of bang for your bucks.
I got the new Kodak AZ401BK today, put batteries and an SD card in it and started experimenting to see how well I liked it. For the money, I'd say its a pretty nice camera. The battery/SD card door is a little flimsy, just as another review stated. But the flash, the zoom and the screen quality are superb. The auto focus works well too. The controls are intuitive and nicely sized. The camera is a good size and weight. The grip and neck strap are comfortable. I got this camera, mostly, for improved still images. It does a good job of that. It does not do great video. Its OK, but not great. To put it plainly: It misses 5 stars for two reasons: 1) flimsy battery door and 2) poor video quality. If you aren't relying on this camera to shoot video then I'd say: Get it!

Awesome camera for the money with a super optical zoom!
Great camera for the money! I choose an open box deal. Amazon said that the box was damaged and there may be small scratch on the back. I couldn't find a scratch on the camera but one corner of the box had some damage. I have pretty much a brand new camera for 114 dollars. I was a little disappointed that it came with no printed owners manual but this was really no big deal because I had already downloaded a PDF manual and studied it before my camera arrived. I have printed out relivent portions and put in a folder. I have had the camera for a few months and I am pleased with it. It does seem that I get my sharpest best photos while using the zoom. I'm attaching some photos that speak for themselves.

Wish I had returned it!
I have had many cameras in my lifetime, really expensive and really cheap. I have NEVER had a camera use battery power like this one. I bought rechargeable batteries and a charger and then bought even additional batteries. If you are using it on a day trip, you had better have the backup batteries with you because this camera won't last. Also, the compartment where you insert the batteries has a slide switch where you lock it so the batteries will stay in. If you handle the camera at all, take it in and out of a bag or even wear it around the neck and hold it, it is very easy to move the slide and the batteries will all fall out. It is very light and the pictures will be blurred if you don't really concentrate and hold it tight. I want something I can swing up in a heartbeat and take a snapshot. This camera will not do it. It does take some good pictures but I can honestly say I can't tell the difference between my phone and the camera. I would say you get what you pay for but I have a small Canon that was half the cost and the pictures are just as good if not better. I only bought this one because I couldn't find my Canon. Thank goodness it showed up.

Product broke after 2 months
After 2 months the lens stopped expanding when turned on. We thought the batteries needed replacing but that was not the case. I have tried numerous times to contact the company over the past year to get this resolved. The phone numbers do not lead to the people who represent this product. Received the run around by being given numerous new numbers to try, only to reach a voice mail EVERY time that stated, 'In training. Will be available in a few hours.' This was not the case. Message stated I could leave a voicemail but the mailbox was always full.Email I was given was unresponsive.I would NOT buy or recommend this product or manufacturer. They do not seem to be interested in their customers.

Best camera ever.
This camera does it all - from macro good enough to show pollen on a bee up to long distance and wide angle. I used to carry a whole bag of lenses and filters to get this much. And the price! Best buy told me I couldn't even think of getting close up for less than $300. This was half the price new, and 1/3 used. I had an earlier model years ago, but broke it. This is even better. I was able to figure most of it out in minutes without the manual, thought I will go on line to make sure I'm using all the features. Near top rated on camera site. Top rated won't do macro.

Inexpensive, yet packed with features
Havent bought anything other than point and shoot cameras over the years. The Kodak PIXPRO AZ401 can be used as a point and shoot, but has many automatic and manual features that you wont see in some cameras that cost much more, but then I'm a novice at this. The attached pics shows the amazing zoom capabilities, and also the panorama mode used from the front porch of a sunset, without a tripod. Can't wait to get some good lunar pics.Uses 4 AA batteries. Battery life is probably average, depending on usage.
